Cavalier and Grandmaster crystal

Hey all , was wondering Your opinion about something
Recently I watched Seatin video when he was trying to pull apocalypse from early crystals and actually for me the video was pretty Sad as from 10 grandmasters he pulled 10 3 * and from 10 cavaliers maybe 1 or 2 5* but majority was 3 start.

He spend roughly 300 GBP for these crystals and my question is. Is it fair from kabam side to bring on the table crystals for such huge amount of money where actually change for pulling 6* is so small and actual the worst award ( 3* champ) is actually so bad.

I am not discussing price here but in my opinion cavalier should be at least 4-6 as then at least by spending such big amount of money You have guaranteed ISO which is also some kind of value.

And I know, people knows the chance of getting 6* of buying cavalier but still if we are where we are, with so many possibilities to collect 6* shards etc, would not be a appreciated move from Kabam site to actually modify cavaliers and make them from 4-6 ?
What are Your thoughts ?

If there were no 3*s in there would be no real risk and it would hyper inflate the rosters of everyone, thereby causing people to jump over content, and causing a panic as kabam would need a massive load of more content to keep everyone playing.

My thoughts are that it doesn’t make sense to spend money for a chance at a 3*

Well pulling 4* is not such a great win for people who are looking for 6 * and cavs are not available for people who do not do Cavalier difficulty . This game is of course about money but I think more people would by them if 3 * would not be there.
So this would be a great deal for Kabam

4*s only or better from a stack of cav crystals is a great win, it is typically atleast 500 5*s shards and a lot of other stuff. Of course more people would buy them, upfront, but they would lose value quickly as everyone rosters shot up and they were no longer needed, then kabam would lose revenue in the long run and need way more content.

Yes, its fair. In a perfect world nothing would be for sale, everything would be earned through gameplay alone, and no one could spend their way past people who actually play the game.

The problem is in this perfect world someone has to pay to keep the game running, and massively multiplayer online games can't support themselves through Patreon. So someone has to pay.

Option #1: everyone pays the same amount, everyone gets the same amount. This works, its the basis for every subscription MMO in the world. The problem is that if you can't afford to pay, you can't play at all. So about 80% of the MCOC players would probably be unable to play the game (statistically most players of F2P games are in fact F2P). The game wouldn't have nearly as much players, and as a result it would probably be a shadow of its current self.

Option #2: Let people play for free, but let players pay to get a little more than the free players to encourage people to pay to support the game. This is the F2P model, the one that MCOC uses. This obviously works, as the F2P model is the most popular one for online games these days, crushing the subscription model that dominated in the past.

So what should those paying customers get? As little as possible. Ideally, if a bunch of rich people were willing to donate millions of dollars to keep the game running and wanted nothing in return, we could pretend we lived in a perfect world where everything is earned from gameplay, and no one can spend past anyone else. But that's unlikely. So we have to offer them something. If we offer too little, not enough people will spend. The more we offer, the more people will spend, but the more unbalanced the game becomes between spenders and F2P players. Eventually, you'll chase all the F2P players away, and then you just have a few whales in an otherwise empty game. So you keep increasing the amount you offer for sale until you get *enough* spenders. Then you stop. You hand out only enough, and no more.

The game makes something between $250 million and $300 million dollars in net revenue a year. That tells me the game currently offers plenty enough value for cash, as they are getting plenty enough cash as it is. Ultimately, it is the spenders that decide how much stuff gets sold. The spenders have voted with their wallets, and they've decided that the value in cash offers is plenty good enough. If it wasn't, they wouldn't be spending $250 million+ on them.

I used to agree with keeping 3* in the mix, but I find myself leaning toward taking them out. 4* are not game-breaking at this point. If we keep the 5 and 6 star chance the same, making this change wouldn’t be shifting things to big spenders. And with how much leveling up we Cavaliers have to do, pulling 3 stars is just straight blech.
