How good was pre 12.0 BW?

100% defensive AA reduction I think, people used to take her against nodes like thorns and spiked armour and she completely negated them

To save you the time, SW had more even distribution of her chances between all the different potential Buffs/Debuffs. Might have been an overall higher chance too.
But specifically, the STUN and REGEN ones were severely cutback as to their chances.
So she used to be able to stay near full health, as well as infinitely Stun opponent, especially with a Crit Rate synergy team (as it was also before Diminishing Returns of things like Crit Rate).

And DS had quicker cycles, and the Regen amount was based on actual damage done to opponent (now is a flat amount PER HIT, no matter what type or how strong the hit is, so can’t save up for a big SP to Regen a higher amount anymore)

I think BW "only" had -100% def AA when max sig. So she was the ultimate utility powerhouse

The cycles used to be 7 seconds instead of the 9 of today.

Doctor strange also had perfect block at all times when he was in his armor phase back in the day. The attack from his Fury phase was probably double or triple of what we see today. The lifesteal was 50% of damage dealt.

As for the special 2 effects. The weakness from the armor phase was about...40% or so, stack 3, and the opponent will deal no damage to you. The armor break from his fury phase is probably comparable to the armor break we see in someone like hulkbuster today. Mind you, DS could stack up to 3.

He was the perfect alliance war attacker and defender. Lord of AQ, smasher of content.

I believe her crits were through diminishing returns. For example, the 'gains' from having all points in masteries like precision, cruelty and pure skill went down.

I was so happy to see DS as my first 4* and then awaken him with the very next 4* crystal I had. He and BW carried me through a lot of content before 12.0

Back then at high levels of AW you needed BW for attack. The alliance I was in was consistently in the top 20 in AW and at least 25 of us were using 99 sig BW for attack. Haven't even thought about using her after nerf.

There were a couple of key attributes that made her very good—she was my profile pic for a while at L99 (necessary for full abilities) and R4/5 (long time ago).

Subtlety enabled BW to bypass some of the most problematic abilities and nodes—Spider evade, thorns, Abom poison, Electro passive shock damage, Ultron self-repair (a big deal in old AQ/AW, especially with old WP masteries).

She also benefited from a huge crit boost on her second special, most of which was neutered by diminishing returns (if I recall correctly). Dropping a Sp2 that got max crit effect could generate 30-40K damage which, at the time, was significant.

She was like a Skill-class Domino in many ways, a pain on defense because her evade seemed to pop up at the worst times (and allowed her to quick counter) and a beast on offense because she was able to neutralize a lot of problematic content.
