Red mags damage from electro

I'm sure this is well known or already discussed, but I dont understand the reason red mags takes damage from electro if his attacks are energy based. After the update kabam changed the description specifically to show his attacks are energy based, so how does that make sense?

Because it's an attack that deal contact, and any contact attack will interact with Electro ability

Energy Attacks cannot prevent from taking back electro damage.

Oy non contact attacks can prevent that.

Professor has non contact energy attack not magneto.

Best way to explain this.

Non contacts attacks - Omega's tentacles attacks, havok medium, prof x, etc take zero static shock damage from electro

Contact attacks either physical or energy based will take static shock damage from electro.

Just to correct it, Omega Red tentacle hits do make contact with the opponent, and are not projectile attacks. It just happens that due to Omega Red ability, these attacks will avoid damage back from some abilities
