    What they are trying to tell you is that they take certain information from you (login credentials, email, maybe even personal info, technical data) in order to provide you with access to their features (personalized offers, web forums, etc.).

    You may not know that they are processing your data to provide you with access, so they are obliged to tell you that. And get you to agree to it.
