Professor X

Hey guys, the hype about professor X and Apocalipse are gone and since professor X is available on this featured 5 stars crystal I figured many people should have him by now.

I just got him and I'm enjoying him but other than that, what do you guys think of him?

Not talking about synergyes, just him as a playable champ.

    He is kind of difficult to play to keep up prowesses, but fun.

    He is equivalent to sunspot imo. really great for progressing rosters because of his falter mechanic, but in more endgame content, he just doesn't have enough utility to compare to other mutants.

    Sunspot doesn’t have non contact attacks, power control, evade and miss counter dude
    And Prof x doesn't have immunities or perfect block. but they are both champs that are great for progressing rosters, not for endgame rosters tho

    I myself have an endgame roster I guess.

    Right now prof X is at r2, awakened since I had the gem for him. He is pretty fun to use.

    Also I used sunspot A LOT on my act 6 exploration so I don't think he isen't an endgame champ.

    Took mine to 5/65. Really fun. You do have to manage his prowess but that’s not hard. I got him to 19 prowess against RoL Wolverine and he dealt 250K damage in an sp2 and two sp1s all fired within a few seconds to end the fight.

    3 down side of him. Very little health poll; his basic attack has below average damage and he actually needs ramp up for big special attack damage.

    Sunspot is one of the best option for end game content, don't know about professor x but I think apocalypse and professor x both are bit overrated, specially professor x

    I don't know about apocalypse cause I didn't get him yet, but prof X seems quite good so far. He has little health pol but seems to have good block proficiency

    I used to want to get him just because he's Prof X and his animations are really damn cool but after getting him in my first pull from the Featured Crystal... damn, he's more than I thought he would be.

    You can sustain the falter by intercepting then dexing a number of hits. You can either build charges by parry-heavying (good block proficiency) or spamming SP1. The mind control mechanic is also cool.

    All his attacks are non contact so he counters thorns, electro, korg and above 25 charges (which is very easy to get to) his attacks can't miss or be evaded. Just that utility makes him valuable for me and justify the r5 decision.

    Rotation is simple enough when you get used to it as it's a unique playstyle but again, does require rampup and I've only played him for a bit so anyone that's got tips feel free to correct me on it.
    You want to build to sp3 while charging heavies to build charges. Launch sp3 at 100 charges to get prowess and dash in for an extra prowess (I like to save falter for that so I'm sure opponent can't hit me). Spam your sps until the mind control timer expires as they cost less power in that state and repeat. Also dashing back after launching a sp refreshes prowess instead of activating an additional one when dashing in so in longer fights you want to do that if they get close to expiring.

    I prefer to build to an sp2 with 100 charges and then start Mind Control until I have won a few fights and built up Cerebro charges. Then I use the sp3 method as you described.

    I hate his prefight animation. Just a waste of my time so he gets side lined. Sim8lar with squirrel girl. I actually have fun fighting with her but the put the dumbest post fight animation so i never use her
