Ghost sp2 Crit question

I’ve played a lot of ghost in the last 3 months and and have seen two different crit scenarios with her sp2. One is only the first one crits because you throw it while already in phase and the other is it all crits because you throw the special right when you enter phase. So in the last week I’ve seen the odd scenario 2 or 3 times where the first and last hit of the sp2 crit but the second doesn’t. Does anyone know what could cause this? I wasn’t fighting against someone who can glance though I do think one of the instances the first hit killed them and then the last two were afterwards so I think that’s an extenuating circumstance.

The whole thing crits if you activate the special immediately upon phasing

Do you know any of the nodes of the fight or who you were fighting? As you said in the 2nd part if the first or second hit knocked out the defender, then yes it is would not crit.

If they were killed by the first hit, then Ghost's base crit rate comes into play and appears to be actual crits contrary to her abilities. But in reality, Ghost's abilities don't allow her to crit outside of specific conditions during the fight. When the opponent is already dead, your abilities can be taken to be non-existent at that point, so it's possible to see crits on your specials from champs that otherwise have guaranteed crits/non-crits, but also have base crit rate. I've noticed it in g99 and Ghost. As for someone like aegon, his base crit rate is zero, end the fight with an SP 1 or 2, and you'd notice that even at 1000+ combo that non of the subsequent hits after the opponent is KO are critical.

As for the other instance of only the first and third hits of Ghost's SP 2 critting when the opponent is alive, I haven't noticed in my nearly 2 years of using ghost.

So he said the “first and last hit crit but the middle didn’t” so if I’m to guess it’s just a bug that needs to be fixed. There’s only 3 scenarios I know about if you phase and activate sp2 late you’ll only crit on the first hit, if you phase a actively sp2 immediately you’ll crit on all and hits and the last one is if you’re not phasing and actively sp2 no hit will crit. The scenarios you’re talking about is brand new to me and most likely is a bug.

For example if you are fighting anyone who glances that can happen. You may crit, crit and not crit because it glanced. Or all 3 can be non crit if it glances. I’ve seen her not crit against beardo before and antman.

Outside of that I wouldn’t know why it would be yellow white yellow. I use ghost A LOT with and without wasp.

For some reason ghost’s guaranteed critical hits are subject to critical resistance, go figure. So against sentinel, Emma Frost, then maybe others like doctor doom, Korg, Killmonger, etc and critical resistance nodes her guarantee isn’t guaranteed.

And yes after KO it all goes out the window as previously stated.

Crit resistance I guess? For some reason, “guaranteed” crits actually means 100% chance, which is subject to crit modifiers

I also have ghost 5star but when I throw her sp2 in phase only 1 hit is crit while all other are just normal.

It must have been crit resistance. I didn’t know that could effect ghost’s guarantied crits. Either that or some weird bug, but either way I haven’t seen it often so it’s not too big of a deal. I just wanted to know if I was missing something. Thanks to everyone who responded

Possibly not a straight answer to the question but yesterday I experienced something against storm pyramid x in the side quest event. The usual dash back (phase) and one hit and also converting some of the damaging debuff into passive furies, i think i that point i had 3 passive furies. Anyways, i dashed back, and then retaliate with one hit, that one hit wasn't critical as stated in Ghost abilites and that's possibly due in part with the interaction with the glance ability from storm pyramid x. however, i didn't stress too much about it cause it was a 4000+ non critical hit.
