Can you keep the free 5 * featured crystal for later?

This is probably a newb question, but can you keep the 5* featured crystal you get from the gamma event until Apocalypse and CGR are in the featured pool? Or are those fixed?

    Darn. A player could hope. I guess this one isn't that bad, got some good champions in it.
