How good is guardian?

So I just spent a while grinding arena so that I could get the gamma from the objectives and open the 5* featured. I pulled this guy.

So I’m pretty sure I’ve heard he’s good but best at high sig. Is that true? And what should I know about him?

He’s amazing, off of the top of my head he has high block prof, lots of resistance at high sig, big burst on sp2, parry non contact hits, taunt, autoblock+perfect block, armor up, and more

He’s a great champ, but really needs the nigh sig for a decent chunk more utility. 4th best tech if you can get him there though. Incredible utility, high damage, and sustainable

Who do you have ahead of him?

I'd have G2099, Warlock, and, depending on the day, Hulkbuster, Sparky, or Vision in there. I don't care for Ghost but she should be in the mix.

Ghost is clearly number 1, Warlock and No.2 and G99 at 3. Although Guardian could maybe overtake G99

i recently pulled Guardian from the current 5 star feat crystal. He is R4 right now. I've been using him here and there in the first quest from Cavalier difficulty. He has performed very good.

Haha knew you would say that. I’m reluctant to make judgements about G99 since I unfortunately don’t have the 5 or 6 star. But I don’t have my guardian ranked up or awakened either. So from what I’ve seen or heard, I think it might be a tight race. G99 has the damage, but Guardian pro malt edges on utility, which I prefer to damage

No idea what "pro malt edges" means 😆

But nevertheless, I believe the utility aspect is also in favour of Guilly. Stronger power control, and heal counter to an extent. The auxiliary energy damage also bypasses some nodes like flux dispersal. Both have a non-crit nature.

I understand guardian has taunt, but that's quite niche nowadays.

But nevertheless, I'd rather not comment further, as I'm in a similar condition as you, but with respect to guardian. My most wanted champ at the moment.

So yeah, I think we'll more clearly see the general consensus towards g99, Warlock and guardian in about 6 months when guardian is more widely available.

Honest to god my autocorrect is the worst. I would give the edge to guardian in terms of utility. That energy resistance is just stupid powerful. Makes him basically quadruple immune, and bypasses a lot of damage. But I understand the argument for G99, she’s a freaking excellent champ, and even if she’s better, it’s close.

Vega 583 has some excellent guardian gameplay if you’re interested

@zeezee57 i had already looked on aunt mai at what his sig does. My question was why does it make so much of a difference when playing him? It seems to me that all he needs to be really good is his base stats and his awakened ability just makes it so that you take less damage when getting hit.
