I always looked at these deals as a way to progress. I don’t value crystals as much as others. Rank up resources are more important for me. I don’t pretend to think everyone else is in the same boat as me. As I said in previous posts, I will wait until EQ and whatever the special event is to get another shot at getting the 1800 frags I need to r3 a champ. What is done is done.
The deals this time are absolute garbage. I'd honestly rather have the 4th of July deals than these trash offers. First of all the odins. 6 star nexus, great didn't expect anything to change about that. T2A, 3 is only half of what it needs to take a 5 star up to rank 5. 10% T5CC, only 66% of what we got 5 months ago. What year are we in, 2019? The 5 star rank 4-5 gem is nice but since the game is pretty much in the '6 star meta' it would be better off as T5B and more T2A.
And I thought the money offer were the only bad offers, boy was I wrong. Of all the unit offers combined there is one singular T5B. Why would I spend 10k units (for the final offer) when I could do an initial run of the abyss and get 3x more T5B, a WHOLE T5CC and a 6 star awakening gem. All for a cheaper unit cost.
In conclusion, I'd rather have a repeat of July 4th. These offers are so bad that they've pushed me into the abyss (up to Mordo doing the first path for anyone that is interested) to get better rewards. I understand that there needs to be a gap between the Cavalier and Thronebreaker players and I agree with this gap. But I disagree that a) the gap between Cav and Thronebreaker is so astronomically large that it's hard for Cavs to catch up. And b) that Cav offers should be decreased just because there's a new title. Honestly Kabam, if you want players to either leave your game or stop spending, keep pulling jokes like these offers. I can tell you for sure that I won't be spending a single cent for a while now.
And Thronebreaker 10k Unit offer is an absolute joke.
6* featured crystal? Seriously? If I need this crystal, I will buy it in December. I don't need these champions. Why is there no choice as usual? The Nexus is much better. T5CC could be made 50% with one crystal.
It's one of the biggest Sales of the year. What do you think happens if they add a bunch of Cats to it? What does that do to the progression of a large number of Players? Not only does it cease to be a progress separator, it also compounds their work to design content that meets the changes. There are limits to how much you can release and speed things up. Opening the floodgates all in one day would be more careless than trying to capitalize on the desire to buy.
It is also some big name streamers, BG, Seatin, KT1 and the list goes on and on, and they just can't understand what Kabam was trying to do here. It is just s huge fail all around.
Lord Shaedow breaks it down pretty well.

That whole spending argument goes out the window when we're talking about a large number of Players who are wanting to spend to get to TB. This whole "cater to the spenders" argument holds water with perforated side walls.
The bottom line is it's meant to take time to reach the Title, at least for some. Regardless of who agrees or not, only Ranking "approved" Champs is very much a choice. So the RNG argument only goes so far as amassing one Class and having a Champ of that Class. At least on paper.
The amount of T5CC in the TB deals weren't game-breaking either. Could they have added more to the Cav deals? Perhaps. I don't understand the mixed up focus between UC and Cav. If I had to look at it objectively, it's more about closing the gap between UC and Cav so much as it is about pushing Cav to TB. In any event, it's meant to be something to work towards, not necessarily to buy it all in one weekend.
The point that I was making is there IS a balance to the game. It's not just a myth, like Nibiru (Planet X). Things are done with a pace in mind. As much as people hated the requirement and expected it to be made easier with a few bucks, it's supposed to be something that is not easily achieved. Otherwise, there wouldn't be such an urge to get the Cats. Just because people say it's all just digital code thrown into the Meta willy-nilly doesn't mean there's no actual accounting for what it does to the system overall.
only can say 1 thing, $ was better spent on other black friday events than a crappy kabam cyber weekend offers.
Like dude give it a rest
But I wonder...have you watched the sheer volume of TB openings from this weekend? Does that look like pacing or balance to you? Do you believe that’s happening among just the top 1500-ish accounts? I wonder what that does to the system overall...
Do you think droves of players haven’t already spent on multiple shard deals to form a single T5c prior to this weekend? Does that qualify as “achievement” in your mind? For that matter, why do you think the 10% selector keeps popping up the past few weeks?
Who are the people you talk to that say it’s “just digital code thrown into the Meta”? Who says the requirement ought to be made easier with a “few bucks”? Which of your mates laments not being able to “buy it all in one weekend”?
I don’t see any of that as the origin of the outrage here. There have already been nearly enough T5c selector deals to form a T5c from cash alone.
If you are a veteran who can play even marginally well, you’ve built
up a steady flow of T5c shards from Variant, Cav EQ, early Act 6 explore and objectives that would further reduce the cash cost to top off a T5–without ever touching Abyss. Some lucky souls have likely been able to cobble a whole T5c together without spending, hitting Abyss or exploring more than a chapter of Act 6.
I think a lot of the anger arises from the sense that the game seemed to go out of its way to stick a thumb in the eyes of near-TBs one last time before they get the new title. That’s wrong in my opinion.
Some of those near-TBs will finally pull a decent 6* to match their T5c next month, and still more waves of near-TBs will progress organically as the next month or two provides more chances at playing (not paying) for T5 shards.
But today I think the only accounting being done is accounting for all the revenue won from a batch of over the top TB cash offers.

Everyone I know that plays bought some, or all of the deals that day
I’ve been finding it hard to continue playing or caring to play the game. I find it a drag most of the time - the fights are painful and annoying and then hours grinded away to get horrible rewards
And I’ve waited eager to buy deals this weekend to do abyss
And now i haven’t bought anything and only been playing aq
Once my ally kicks me I’ll likely fall off all together
I have been playing this game for almost 6 years and I’m posting my first ever forum post because of this weekends deals. I’m not a “content creator” or a “whale” but I enjoy MCOC in my spare time when I’m not working, I have friends in my Alliance and take pride in the account I built. This weekend Is the first time in 6 years I have considered playing something else and just walking away. Yes, I was disappointed with the “deals” offered for Cavalier players but that is your business. What you should take into consideration is the marketing of that business. Having all these “content creators” opening Thronebreaker deals may seem like FOMO for people to reach that level but it’s really not, at least it wasn’t for me. It makes me feel like a guy waiting in line for a PS5 only to be told “everyone else can buy one except you because you work 8-10 hours a day during weekdays and don’t have time to spend 6-8 hours doing The Labyrinth even with weekends free.” I don’t know what your customer base is but I feel that in marketing to your high end players (the top 1000) you alienated and angered many of the weekend players & FTP players (the bottom 300,000+). I expect KABAM will read this and respond with a “we will take it under advisement and try to do better” general blurb but I wanted to express my frustration from this weekend.
