My Alliance Thoughts & Tips
So first of all, I want to clarify that I will NOT be talking about the gifting event in this post. That is just absolute chaos.
Second of all, for context, I'm a relatively recent thronebreaker, and I have three more quests to explore for Breaker of Thrones.
On to alliances. My old alliance was a pretty intense Platinum 3 alliance that ran 6/6/6 AQ. It was pretty stressful and you were expected to be close to constantly active. The whole alliance was on the East Coast of the US. People were kicked daily - losing one AW fight would be it for you. If you didn't answer on Line, you got kicked. It was pretty much impossible to do anything else in the game or out of it and be in that alliance. So I left and I played solo for a month (the month of October). I focused on progressing in Act 6 exploration.
Then, this month, I joined a new alliance. We're Gold 1 and run 5/5/5. We're from all around the world, and battlegroups are divided by time zone as best as possible. The structure is before any round starts, you send to your battlegroup - How close to the start you'll be active and how long you'll be active for. Whenever you have something else so you'll be inactive for a while you just have to let everyone know how long you'll be gone. We consistently 100% all three battlegroups for quest and usually end up at the 170,000,000 milestone. If I'm being honest, neither the map 6 nor map 5 AQ crystals are worth anything. The real reward is the Glory. And I'm satisfied with 4300 glory per AQ rotation. For War Season rewards, I lose the 4 2% T5CC shard crystals, which really isn't THAT MUCH especially considering that we get 30% a month now from Legendary, Cav Objective, and Cav diff exploration.
Overall, my new Alliance's system works really well and it doesn't give that much less rewards than my old stressful one.
Many people have said that the Alliance system is inherently flawed and is just too stressful. After this experience, I strongly disagree. I think it is possible to play alliance effectively without having the aggressive "kick culture" that is so prevalent. I highly recommend finding an alliance with a system similar to mine.
These are just my opinions, and I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on this thread!
