Does the two week gifting restriction apply to friends or just ally mates?

It wouldn’t affect alliance rewards of course but could I gift my new friends the day I friend them?

Not that if you were in an alliance, WHO you gift to won't matter (gifting points count for alliance even if you gift to a non-alliance friend).

BUT, if you ARE NOT IN an alliance at all (Solo mode), well then what does the 14 day requirement mean then ??
I assume you will still be able to gift to people.

BUT (2), so does being Solo mean you can gift right away, but then joining an alliance means you CAN'T gift to anyone at all until 14 days mark in alliance is reached ??
Or can you still gift (to anyone) during those 1st 14 days, but they just DON'T COUNT AS ALLY EVENT POINTS during those 14 days (only towards Solo Event points, if there even is such a thing ?)
Which would be very confusing for people, to be able to gift right after joining Ally but it doesn’t count as points. (Who would be paying attention to when they can start gifting for ally points if they are allowed to gift all along ?)

I hope it is setup so that you can Gift as a Solo Player, but then NOT be able to gift during 1st 14 days in alliance. Although that would be messed up too for those that joined too late (and would then prevent them from continuing to even Gift for Solo points the rest of the duration too) ?

As to OP original question, the 14 days doesn’t mean as to after when you FRIEND someone, it applies to when you join an alliance.

Whatever the constraints are (per my inquiry above), you can gift to either a Friend or Alliance Teammate the same way.

You can gift items right away. You won't be stopped for it.
Now, for the alliance event rewards, you will still be able to contribute points, but you will not be able to claim any rewards till the 14 days have passed. After that, the rewards should get unlocked for it, similar to how summoner advancement or the 3-day alliance events work

Actually, I don’t think so. Because that would still allow Gift Dumping (even though the “dumper's” account wouldn’t benefit from reward). They don’t want the alliance to even benefit from such an arrangement either,

I’m pretty sure your Gifting Points WON'T go towards Ally Event unless your gifting is done AFTER you’ve been with them for 14 days.

Yes, the rewards will unlock for you after 14 days (say you join 1 week prior to event start, then you can claim any existing Milestone levels at the 7 day mark into gifting event, 14 overall, upon your 1st gift afterwards).
But any gifting done before 14 days won’t count towards Alliance Event total.
