spider ham side quest bug

I have explored legendary spider ham side quest and I got 39,500 shards.It should be actually 40,000 shards. Why this happen ??

There are total 40,000 shards if u explore 100%
But i got 39,500

This was known bug they will be topping up missing shards, there was a couple threads about it
