Gifting Event Question

When it says that we need to be in an allience for 2 weeks before getting/contributing Alliance rewards/points for the gifting event does it mean:

A: If you join on Dec 20th (so the 2 weeks ends on Jan 3rd) that any gifts that were gifted during the two week time (Dec 21st-Jan 3rd)and their respective points are now uploaded to the alliance score so you can get allience rewards with the points that you got during those 2 weeks

B: If you join on Dec 20th (so the 2 weeks ends on Jan 3rd) that any gifts that were gifted during the two week time (Dec 21st-Jan 3rd)and their respective points ARE NOT COUNTED to the alliance overall points and it only will include points from Jan 3rd-Jan 4th?

Also if it is only counted during the last two days will a person be eligible to get milestones that we already achieved by the allience before the 2 weeks are up?

Just looking for clarification since I will be joining an allience on the 20th and would hold off from gifting if my points would only be included in my allience points during the last 2 days.

My understanding is that you would want to hold off on your gifts until you hit the necessary 2 week threshold. The reason for that is 2-fold:

1) All the points you earn from gifting will then actually count towards your alliance (since I believe it is scenario B that you describe above), AND

2) To qualify for the milestone rewards that your alliance hits while you're not yet eligible, you will need to hit the mandatory minimum number of points personally contributed to the alliance. Since all your points will count if you wait until you hit the 2 week mark, then you should qualify for any milestones you would normally have done had you been part of the alliance the whole time.

I may be mistaken, but since I believe that your option "B" is the way this works, this would be my recommendation on how to maximize the value of the gifting event if you can't join your alliance until 12/20.
