Does rank up gems expire?

So right now i have 2 rank 2-3 generic gems and i just got time to do variant 6 so that would give me 3 more extra....so will the gems will go to stash or cap will increase?

    Yes, they will expire. I currently have two expiring in my stash from doing v6 so I’m going to have to rank someone up.
