Why is Sabretooth not a #Villain tagged champ???

He is literally a mass murder, serial killer, consistent adversary of the X-Men, henchmen of Magneto(who is a villain). With the most recent variant all but gate requiring the use of villain champs i was excited to dust off my sabretooth, i go to fight 3 fights deep and come to my sheer shock and amazement he is not given the tag villain...

WHY?

Came on here to also say "blade"

Aren't we past the blade excuse now though. I mean Blade isnt even a top 3 skill champ anymore imho.
Just like they nerf'd Dr. Strange because at the time he was too powerful, not anymore if they reset him back to what he was he might actually be usable again.

If you are going to make in game Tags mean things like who you can take on a variant quest or if magneto can magnetize them (Starlord, all metal accessories, more metal on him than Winter Soldier) then shouldn't they be correct or at least lean on the side over inclusion instead of needlessly restrictive.

If you are going to say that Iron Patriot is a #Villain and only recognize one facet of the character then at the very least Sabretooth should be considered a #Villain in this game, just sayin.

I just wanted to say that you are wrong. How did you even get to this conclusion?

In MCOC, S.T is a merc. Deadpool is also a merc. S.T gets paid to take people out-

This is MCOC's version of S.T. In this game, merc's aren't considered villains.

Yeah.... I just brought ST into Variant, and after his health completely melted away I realized he wasn't tagged a villain.
At least he gives Omega Red a good synergy.

Nevermind that, how is a mercenary not *automatically* a villain?? Selling your violence to the highest bidder would seem to qualify in and of itself.

Not even in real life scenarios a mercenary is necessarily a "bad person", or a villain

Wow , so I won't be a bad guy if I become a mercenary? Cool.

    Getting off track again.

Sabretooth kills Wolverines lover Silver Fox in the comics, how else do you define a villain that killing the heros loved ones...

If 90% of your character arch is fighting against the X-Men should be enough to be considered a Villain just sayin, Merc doesnt mean ur a villain but i dont understand why he wouldnt be tagged as both.

To me the Blade argument is just out dated

I dunno, the tag system is a formalized reflection of the limitations put on the comics industry by the comics code. Good was good, bad was bad, you weren’t allowed to glamorize villains you weren’t allowed to imply cops were ever wrong. The Comics code lost a significant amount of power towards the 80s and 90s, Marvel dropped out entirely, and the lines started blurring. Sabretooth has been “redeemed” repeatedly since then, with any numbers of excuses for his violence, and processes for mitigating it. If you went looking hard enough you can find a way to justify almost any tag on almost anybody these days.

Undoubtedly, his function in the comics industry is as a villain and adversary. But if someone just read one or two runs on the character you could come away thinking he was just a mercenary or even a hero.

    Also, Blade.

Changing it now would be to admitting they do nerf champs indirectly. So the blade argument still stands

I just disagree, re-categorizing characters the way they should be categorized now after they have moved in a direction where placing increased importance on such things like tags and champion filtering is something that wasn't necessarily a concern when there were so many less champs. Times change, game evolves so should the categorization of them. Stop throwing out terms like "nerf" when we are simply talking about a simple tag to more accurately represent who a marvel character really is.

    Well formed argument.
However if Magneto is a #Villain and frequently employs or partners with ST, and ST on his own has Villain archs as well as frequently being an adversary x-men and other heroes like Iron Fist wouldn't it then follow that ST therefore is also a Villain. I mean Red Cyclops is a #villain in this game when his only real true act of villainy was under Phoenix mind control and Phoenix isnt a #villain. I contend that there is more of systemic miscategorization of champions than initially realized when it comes to villains and heros than meets the eye here.

Of we could just settle on giving ST the #villain tag lol

I think we are putting too much on blade here when it requires a specific synergy with only 1 champion in the game in order to pull this villain thing off. To me just doesn't justify as a reason not properly tag some champions now such as Sabretooth.

No one is saying he SHOULDN’T be updated and tagged villain due to Blade. They are saying he WASN’T properly tagged at release due to Blade.
