Can I join a alliance now when tomorrow gifting event starts

Hey I was wondering whether I can change alliance and wait for few days to be eligible for alliance milestone rewards and then gift and get alliance milestone rewards?

- Users must be a member of their alliance for 14 days before they can contribute points towards the event or claim rewards.

The event is 14 days exactly, so i think if you go now you can claim on the final day? Maybe. I wouldn't risk it tbh.
