Some masteries are the base. Parry is one of them. To activate one by one with only one point is a good start.
It is essential to keeps units and not spend them on crappy crystals that are expensive and do not bring very good things.

make sure you have parry and dexterity, after that i recommend saving for precision and cruelty (not lesser), then willpower, then glass cannon, after that it depends on your champions
