Clarification

Regarding the gifting event, Kabam stated that you must be in an alliance 14 days prior to be able to contribute to alliance event and claim milestones.... however, there was no mention about retroactive points being issued once the 14days have been met. I have a member in my alliance who has contributed almost 300k points, and if those don’t count once his 14 days are met, there is going to be some irate members of the community ! @kabam

Pretty clear since the beginning that you cannot contribute points until the 14 days were up. It was the only way to curb the rotating points dump we’ve seen in years past.

In regards to your foolish assumption, let’s compare to an event like Summoner Advancement. Points are added retroactive once the time period is met. There was nothing stating that you had to wait until your 14days were up to start participating. Only that you would contribute points after the 14day period was over. Leaving veteran players counting on a formal system that we are used to that points would be added retroactive once the qualification period was met

The points won't count. I can 100% verify this because it happened to me. The gifting event is different than other events. They did this on purpose to put a stop to as much shady stuff as possible. So only points earned during the period where they are eligible count.

I was aware of this and knew it, I just didn't realize that when I left and rejoined it hadn't been two weeks.

Won't work for this event. People have already gone passed the lockout periods and points did not retroactively count.

These statements are a direct copy-paste from the 'JOY TO THE WORLD, THE HAM IS COME!' mod post.

It clearly states that they have to wait 14 days BEFORE they can contribute, anything done earlier will be considered null and void. And if the member hasn't finished his 14 days after the event is over, he cannot contribute at all.

Ideally, yes. But if you join later, you have to wait to contribute.

It always makes me laugh when I see someone claim 'massive community backlash' as a justification for why something should work the way they want it to. Especially when there was a very simple way to avoid the problem in the first place.

When people don’t even bother to read the in-game mail, that’s when you get posts seeking “clarification” like this. The alliance gifting rank rewards aren’t that great anyway, so the 300k gifter probably won’t miss out too much.

There has been an abundance of clarification, you're simply refusing to listen because you want Kabam to tell you so you can complain to them. ALL POINTS BEFORE 14 DAYS IN THE ALLIANCE DO NOT COUNT. It is abundantly clear when you can see they aren't even recorded in the alliance event during lockout.

In summoned advancement, all points you contribute are added, you're only ineligible for rewards. In gifting you can see the points ARE NOT counted towards the event.

Listen to what everyone has said, say bummer to your mate for his 300k not contributing and learn to read.

That’s laughable. What 30 people? Maybe a few alliances since they didn’t read the notice well enough.

This comes down to user issue not Kabam issue.

And besides the alliance rank rewards suck anyways. It’s the solo rewards that really matter

I read the ingame Mail, maybe you should ! It states that players can’t contribute until the 14day requirement has been met, but not that the points won’t be added retroactive the same as Summoner Advancement. There has been no formal clarity on this from Kabam @Kabam Miike

Not being able to contribute means exactly what is written. You can't contribute any points. It's not the same as "you will be eligible in X:XX:XX"
