First tip is to not get nervous. It gets harder but it's important to calm your nerves and not let them get the better or you, otherwise your gameplay will be all sorts of messed up.

Second, as thicco mentioned, is to know which champions the global defense tactics affect and how you can also take advantage of it.

We reached tier5 as well. We went for stubborn on the first day...and some of us pretty much faced difficulty on the fights.
