Can’t use rank up gem on Ultron Classic?

Anyone know why you can’t use a 2015-2017 rank up gem on Ultron Classic? I have two in my inventory but it’s not appearing as an option on his rank up menu (it does appear for other champions). He was released in 2016. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

First of all, congrats for Lol 100%. Second, by all means it should appear. I would suggest sending KABAM a ticket asking what's wrong.

I used a couple different year gems on Kang.

Him, Kang, and I think Thanos can’t be given year specific gems because “they didn’t have a conventional release”

I guess I understand that logic. Still, I think Kabam could give him a release year without much trouble.
