I know the picture doesn’t fully show the effect, or lack thereof, but it wasn’t pausing them.

    If anyone knows a reason why he wouldn’t in this particular fight that I overlooked, please feel free to let me know.

    But he does. Most people use the special 1 to demonstrate this but the special 1 creates new buffs that are not paused. Only the old ones are paused. Use a special 2 and you will see that they are being paused.
