From my knowledge, Warlock doesn't need the awakening to be a beast. Go for Guardian, he gains more from it.

Guardian between the two, neither need it - sure it does give Guardian a fair bit of extra utility but he’s still a banger without it. If it’s a tech gem, fair enough- I’d probably only put Ghost ahead of Guardian to awaken and sig up but hold it if it’s a generic
