As a cav player with almost 6 rank 5s, should I save for Fourth of July unit offers? How good are they and how much should I be saving.

Yes. Try to get to 5000. With a couple of months to go, 5000units is quite managable and gives you the firdt two offers. They are usually worth the grind.
Try googling last year's deals.
