it should only stop when there is a multiple paths to pick from, but, every time there is 'cutscenes/dialogs' where you have to hit skip, it don't automatically skip it, and you have to hit it manually

    Go to the settings, there was an option for skip dialogs

    That's not a bug of the feature.
    You now have an option on the main menu to disable dialogue's once the quest is completed
