5* 2-3 generic rank up gem vs 2-3 class gem discussion

I feel like I see a lot of posts after new variants drop about 5* generic 2-3 gems and how it’s a pain to try to use them when you already have class gems in your inventory. I’ve always seen people respond to these post, and I have don’t this too, by saying, “contact support. They can fix the issue for you and make it so that you can use the correct gem.” I would like to apologize to anyone who I’ve responded this way too in this exact scenario because I’m in it currently and I contacted support and they won’t do a thing. This is not primarily a complaint post; what I want to do is spread awareness because I learned something new that is frustrating. The only time that support can do anything when you’re having an issue with the game not allowing you to use the correct rank up gem is in regards to 2017 3-4 rank up gems. Other than that, you’re out of luck. I’ve been told that there’s a bug with the 2017 ones which can be fixed by support but any other gem you have to use the one the game is prompting you too. I just wanted to get this out there and say feel free to comment on your rank up gem struggles because I know a lot of us have them. Thanks for you time.
