Karnak Buff Idea
I just got a 5* Karnak from the Hand-to-hand Crystal and...well...he could use some work. I tried to keep what works in his kit, but expand on it in various ways. The biggest change is how his Focus builds up during the fight. By alternating between different combos, he can build up various effects over time. He has access to Guaranteed Critical Hits, but can also go for combos completely devoid of Critical Hits if the need arises. As long as he keeps his Focus up, these benefits keeps stacking up until eventually being turned into passive buffs when he has landed enough combos.
In addition, I expanded on the way he can reduce Class Disadvantage throughout the fight. Now, he can not only negate Class Disadvantage but also gain additional benefits towars classes he already has a Class Advantage against, as well as gain a Class Advantage against otherwise neutral classes.
Signature Ability - Second Tower Training
Karnak’s Inhuman metabolism and Autonomic Function Controls reduces Poison damage by 65% and the healing reduction effects from Poison by 50%. It also decreases the duration of non-damaging Debuffs by up to 45%.
For each hit landed while Focused, regardless of combo-type, further reduce the duration of non-damaging Debuffs by 1% and the potency of damaging Debuffs by 1%.
Focus
Given time, Karnak becomes Focused and begins to study the opponent. As his Focus grows, the opponent's weak spots come into view and Karnak can decide how to best defeat them in combat. He also grows stronger in his defensive capabilities.
Whenever Karnak is struck, lose Focus for 9 seconds. All effects not locked in as passive Buffs are lost.
Focused Assault
* When ending a 5-hit combo with a Light attack, no hits in the next 3-hit combo are ever Critical but instead deal a burst of Degeneration damage each. If ending a 5-hit combo with a Medium attack, all hits in the next 4-hit combo are Guaranteed Critical Hits.
* For each 3-hit combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, deal 5% more Degeneration damage.
* For each 4-hit combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, increase Critical Rating by 5%.
* For each 5-hit combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, gain a passive 2% Fury Buff.
* For each combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, regardless of the number of hits it contains, combo-finishers ignore 1% Armor Rating.
* For each Special Attack activated while Focused, gain a 2% chance to Power Lock the opponent for 5 seconds after you activate your next Special Attack.
Focused Defense
* For each 3-hit combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, lower opponent Degeneration Resistance by 2%. This can lower their Resistance indefinitely for as long as Karnak’s Focus is active, but a Resistance lower than 0% cannot be Locked In.
* For each 4-hit combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, lower opponent Critical Damage Rating by 2%.
* For each 5-hit combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, lower opponent Critical Rating by 2%.
* For each combo completed uninterrupted while Focused, regardless of the number of hits it contains, gain 2% Physical Resistance.
* For each Special Attack avoided while Focused, gain a 2% chance to Power Lock the opponent for 5 seconds after they activate their next Special Attack.
Lock-in
Every 10 combos completed uninterrupted while Focused, regardless of the number of hits they contain, lock in the Focus effects as passive Buffs for the rest of the fight and start building them up again. This also cleanses all Debuffs on Karnak.
Royal Class
Every 5 seconds when fighting Science and Tech champions, reduce Offensive Ability Accuracy by 1%, up to 15% per fight and 45% in total. This Reduction is not lost in-fight if Focus is lost, but nothing is carried over to the next fight if Karnak is not Focused when he defeats his opponent.
Every 7 seconds when fighting Cosmic and Skill champions, Karnak builds up Class Advantage by 1% until he reaches 100. If he ends the fight Focused, keep whatever level of Class Advantage build-up was achieved for the next fight against the same class. When ending a fight Focused and with a Class Advantage build-up of 100%, keep the Class Advantage against that class for the rest of the Quest.
Every 10 seconds when fighting Mutants and Mystic champions, Karnak reduces his Class Disadvantage by 2% until it is gone. If he ends the fight Focused, keep whatever level of Class Disadvantage Reduction was achieved for the next fight against the same class. When ending a fight Focused and with a Class Disadvantage Reduction of 100%, ignore Class Disadvantage for the rest of the Quest.
Heavy Attacks
If a Heavy Attack breaks through the opponent’s Block, Armor Breaks them until their next successful Block.
While charging a Heavy attack, do not lose Focus if struck.
Special Attack 1
* If not Focused: instantly become Focused.
* If Focused: gain a non-stacking combo shield that prevents you from losing Focus for 2 seconds if struck.
* 100% chance to gain True Strike for 8,5 seconds.
Special Attack 2
Attack Rating is increased based on how much health the opponent has lost throughout the fight. If the opponent has lost more than 200% of Karnak’s Max Health, gain True Strike for the duration of the attack and place a Potency Debuff on them that increases the amount of Critical and Degeneration Damage they take for 20 seconds.
Special Attack 3
Places a Daze Debuff on the opponent, reducing their Defensive Ability Accuracy by 80% for 40 seconds. Whenever an ability fails to trigger due to this, Karnak’s next successful hit places a passive Degeneration for 6 seconds on the opponent that is refreshed every time another one of their abilities fails to trigger.
