Thor (Ragnarök) Buff Idea
Hey, what can I say. I'm Swedish, I want the Norse god of thunder to be a proper powerhouse so I tried to make that happen. I never understood why his signature ability wasn't just a part of his SP3 since the attack is such a dud without it, so I incorporated parts of it into his SP3. I also buffed his Shock Resistance significantly and made it so that he actually benefits from having Shock Debuffs on himself. He didn't exactly look at his worst when he was glowing and sparkling in Thor: Ragnarök. It's just him being in his element, I figured.
I also gave him a Combo Meter that grants his special attacks various bonuses. While I tend to dislike having to keep up a combo to reach a champ's maximum potential, it is a part of his base kit and I didn't want to throw it out. However, I figured I could expand on it a little if it has to be there. It's nothing too special - only going up to 50 hits - but it is there and it doesn't just magically grant a few bits and bobs at and only at 40 hits.
SIgnature Ability - The Thunderer
* As long as the opponent is suffering from a Shock Debuff, they cannot land Critical Hits.
* Every Critical Hit that the opponent fails to land this way has a 20% chance to place an Armor Break Debuff on them.
* As long as the opponent is suffering from an Armor Break Debuff, Thor is 20% more likely to land Critical Hits.
Passive
Thor has 100% Shock Resistance. This cannot be decreased by Ability Accuracy Reduction.
Boon of Asgard
Every 20 hits on the Combo Meter, Thor gains a Power Gain charge that activates the next time he launches a Special Attack. Each charge passively grants Thor 40% of Max Power over 4 seconds. This Power Gain is interrupted if Thor gets knocked down by a Special Attack. Boon of Asgard is not affected by Ability Accuracy and prevents Thor from gaining Power when struck by Special Attacks.
A maximum of 3 charges can be held at any one time, but only 2 can activate simultaneously.
For every 10 hits the opponent has landed on Thor during the fight, Thor has a 33% chance to gain an additional Power Gain charge that activates when the opponent launches a Special Attack, assuming the Special Attack does not knock Thor down. Only one charge can activate this way per Special Attack.
Well-Timed Blocks
Cannot Stun the opponent, but inflicts them with a Shock Debuff for 5 seconds. Each Shock Debuff reduces their Ability Accuracy and Block Penetration by 15%.
Thor’s Well-Timed Blocks cannot be broken with Unblockable basic attacks. If the opponent is suffering from a Shock Debuff, Thor gains 2000 Block Proficiency on Well-Timed Blocks.
Shocks
If a Well-Timed Block would inflict an opponent with a second Shock Debuff, Thor quickly strikes them with Mjölnir and inflicts a Lightning Strike Debuff for 2 seconds. While suffering from a Lightning Strike Debuff, the opponent is Stunned and Thor deals 150% increased damage with all basic attacks.
If the opponent is Armor Broken, the increased damage is raised to 250% and applies to all of Thor’s attacks.
What Are You the God of Again?
Whenever Thor suffers from a Shock Debuff, he reminds those he fights what he is capable of. The duration of the Debuff is increased by 200% and every hit in Thor’s Combo Meter during this time increases his Critical Rating. WIth every Critical Hit, Thor inflicts a stacking Armor Break on the opponent, up to a maximum of 5. For every Armor Break on the opponent, Thor’s Shock Debuffs deal 15% more damage.
When opponents intercept Thor’s Dash
Thor has a 20% chance per Shock Debuff on the opponent to use his Shield to Auto-Block any attacks made while he is Dashing towards the opponent. Should Thor Auto-Block an attack, he also inflicts a Lightning Strike Debuff on the opponent.
Combo Meter
When launching Special Attacks, they gain bonus effects based on Thor’s Combo Meter in addition to their standard effects. Each hit also has a 1% chance to be Critical for each hit in the Combo Meter upon activation, up to 50%.
10 hits - Inflicts a Shock Debuff on the opponent for 6 seconds.
20 hits - Inflicts a Shock Debuff on Thor for 12 seconds.
30 hits - Armor Breaks the opponent for 6 seconds.
40 hits - Stuns the opponent for 3 seconds.
50 hits - Increases the damage of all hits in the Special Attack by 20%.
Special Attack 1
Lowers the opponent’s Energy Resistance by 20% for 10 seconds and grants Thor an indefinite Combo Shield that activates when he is struck and prevents him from losing his combo for 2 seconds.
Special Attack 2
If launched while Thor has at least one Power Gain charge, this attack does not grant the opponent any Power and one Power Gain charge is used up to Power Lock the opponent for 5 seconds. If they launch a Special Attack while Power Locked, refresh the duration of the Debuff after the last hit and then Drain all of their remaining Power.
Special Attack 3
This Special Attack can only inflict up to a maximum of 35% of the opponent’s Max Health as damage. At the end of the attack, it places one Armor Break on the opponent for each Shock Debuff they suffer from, then a Shock Debuff for each Armor Break on them.
After a Special 3, Thor is able to control lightning within his body for 18 seconds. He has a 40% chance to inflict Shock whenever landing a physical attack on the opponent, dealing Energy Damage over 5 seconds. This chance is increased by 25% if the opponent is suffering from an Armor Break.
