Are special boost even useful?

So not sure what I am missing, 12% special damage at max seems so pathetic compared to the cheese of the power boosts or the +50% to attack and health you get by running max basic boosts. Very confused about why this boost exists, I can't even see a reason for it cost 7,000 loyalty given for 8,000 you can get a 10% boost to all of your attacks.

The special damage ones are meh, the power back ones are insane

their ok but I prefer to spend my loyalty on the basic boosts

I forget loyalty is in the game most of the time

Also I kinda misclicked. The only place I ever used one was a cosmic one for Corvus against abyss collector. Was barely getting to SP 2 either way
