Help a Newbie (rank up)

I'm Uncollected and starting on 5.3. I do want to push to Cavalier by the end of the month. Should I Level up 6* but not rank them and focus on my 5* for now? Not sure what to do with the 6* I cant nearly afford them yet....

Who should I rank? Great for questing, great for defense on AW? And for Arenas, will I ever need my 5* to be rank 1 level 1? for a cheese or anything?

My Rough list in no particular order is Aegon (i can awaken him), Colossus (should I awaken?), Ghost, She Hulk, Carnage

I'd focus on Doom first. You already have the best mystic champ so use him. Aegon if you can put a lot of sig stones into him. Colossus is great, I would awaken him. Apoc will also help you a lot. Ghost as well, of course. The 6* are decent defenders. Level them up, but I'd focus on ranking up the great 5*.

I would also focus on Doom and Aegon. What's good about Aegon is that he ramps up the more you use him, which will be very useful in Act 5.3. I absolutely hate that whole chapter. Every quest nerfs all but one class by 50% which makes all fights super long and annoying unless you have a really big roster, which you probably don't by that time (I didn't).

The reason Aegon is so good for 5.3 is just because of the fact that he ramps up with time. While he starts of nerfed like every other champ, he eventually grows into a powerhouse regardless of that. It might take more hits than it normally would, but those restrictions ultimately serve him well in the end.

I personally mostly brute-forced my way through that whole chapter without the class-specific champions, which was a long and tedious process but ultimately got me through. I recommend you watch some videos on Youtube (Seatin usually has good guides that I've used a lot) to see which paths are easiest, so that you can get through the chapter as quickly as possible.

Act 5.4 was a lot more fun, though.

Act 6, meanwhile, is...well, it's an obstacle that you need to push through. I don't really know how Act 6.1 plays nowadays since the most challenging boss in it has been both buffed (the champ - Crossbones - himself) and nerfed (the nodes he has) since I completed it. I think Aegon might still be a good option for that fight. He doesn't rely on special attacks (which is good since you won't get many) and he can shrug off debuffs easily (which is good since you're going to be poisoned at the start, if I remember the nerf correctly).

Good luck, and remember that you can always step away from the story side of things for a while and do other stuff. After I became Cavalier, I stepped away from the story for maybe a year if not more and did variants and EQ, focusing on building my roster. When I did end up picking up my story progression, I initially breezed through it before eventually reaching content that was challenging me again.

Im thinking I wait on Rank 5 doom to get up some of these other 5* right?

Im Very concerened about Mephisto in the Castle Rifts.

Colossus or Apoc would be better counter? Worth it to push Apoc to rank 5?
