Energy depleting 2x as fast

I don't know if I did something, I rejoined this game after leaving it for about a year so i maybe screwed something up, but my quest energy is depleting twice as fast. Rather than having my normal 52 energy i only have enough energy to move 26 spaces, and if I only have one energy it won't let me move. at first I didn't think it was that much of a deal, i was just visiting for nostalgia, but have started to love this game and it is very frustrating. If you know of anything i might have done to cause this, please comment.

As you get further in the game, one tile move will start to require more energy. In your case, one move costs 2 energy.
