Also, Antman and Wasp both involve manipulating Pym particles which is what changes their size. The suit aids in particle manipulation, but the particles themselves are what gives them their powers which is why they are science.
Edit: Should add that I'm guessing on how the suit relates (I'm not huge on AM & Wasp comic lore at all) to the Pym particles. But the size manipulation is only because of the particles.
In the comics, the suits are combination armor, utility belt, and techno-explainer (how can Ant Man breathe? Ant Man suit. How can Ant Man communicate with ants? Ant Man helmet. Where does Ant Man store the Pym particles? Ant Man pouch. etc.).
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are deleterious side effects of changing size due to the use of the Pym particles that can cause physical damage and mental psychosis. The suit is designed to protect the person using the Pym particles from these side effects (and also be a techno-explainer).
Isn't he supposed to be a tech champ?...he's from 2099 all the other 2099 champs like guillotine and punisher are tech...I think Spider-Man 2099 should be tech...also I've been waiting for him since a long time....and I'm really hoping he's better than peni Parker....which knowing kabam won't happen...

Sure why not make Nick Cosmic and Professor X a science champ too. They obviously assign a class to each champ based on the comics/movies. You can’t just give random classes to champs because no version of that champ has that particular class.

Superior iron mans suit is made from symbiote DNA, which makes him cosmic. So why is Agent Venom skill? Is it because he uses guns? So do guns automatically make you a skill champion? Joe Fixit uses a gun, why isn’t he skill? Falcon uses a tech suit to fight, why isn’t he tech? Blade uses a sword which is a weapon and he’s skill, so does that mean swords or weapons make you skill? Then explain proxima and corvus. Aegon uses hand to hand combat primarily, but also displays cosmic attributes or do you consider them mystical attributes?? so couldn’t he be cosmic or shouldn’t he be mystic???????

I feel classes are chosen based on their source of abilities (root cause), how they use their abilities or whether their abilities is a important to that character and where they are from For superior iron man, the suit is his source of strength. Without it he’s just a human who probably doesn’t know how to fight like black widow and others. His suit is also a symbiote ergo cosmic
Agent venom on the other hand. Without the suit you have flash thompson, a trained soldier, skill. The suit is a boost but flash is mostly in control and uses his skills gotten from army training in combat and isn’t reliant on the suit.
Joe fix it is basically hulk albeit weaker. Take away the guns and he’s still a hulk who came into existence because of a gamma explosion
Proxima and corvus are aliens from space first and foremost. They don’t rely on tech or magic and don’t have the x gene. They could have fallen into skill but they aren’t normal. They’re aliens from space (which means better physical qualities compared to humans). They are already naturally gifted by their origin
Aegon fought as a gladiator, won and got powers from the iso belt which he uses to form a phantom limb. But first and foremost he’s a gladiator who trained and fought with his fists and weapons to get to where he is hence why he’s skill. Without the iso sphere, he’s still a skilled fighter
Blade would normally fall under mystic I think (dunno the source of vampires) but regardless of the benefits of being half vamp, he has taken time to hone his combat skills so he’s not reliant on his vampiric abilities
To play devils advocate, Spider99 could be tech, science, and arguably even a skill character. A lot of characters could potentially fill another class type if you could make the argument for it.
Was it the most logical decision? Probably not. I assume Kabam didn’t want to two tech champions for the release.
At the end of the day I doubt it really matters. Peni looks better anyways
Edit: Just to make myself clear, there’s no one glove fits all for class typing. Winter Soldier and Cap are basically a good example. CapIW could arguably be a skill character, he’s just winter soldier without guns, but domino also uses guns but shes a mutant, but thats because shes actually a mutant, so having guns doesnt automatically make you a skill character, because in that case rocket could be a skill character, but he uses a suit with technology and hes tech, but then again superior iron man uses a suit with tech, so why is he cosmic?

Spiderman 2099 is science because his core abilities come from his genetic enhancements which are science in nature. His costume grants other abilities, but in the judgment of the designers those function more like OG Spiderman's web shooters: they are a tool more than the core of his abilities.
If we apply the same theory to stark enhanced spiderman than he should also be science because his core abilities come from his DNA alteration after getting bitten by radioactive spider. Tony himself said in the movie that "if he is nothing without suit than he don't deserve one' which again amplify that his core abilities are science based.
