Elektra: What Does She Do Well?

DrZolaDrZola Member Posts: 9,844 ★★★★★
As the proud owner of a shiny new L20 6* Elektra, I took it as a sign that Kabam wanted me to trot my newly duped #mercenary champ out to stomp some Ghost gluteus.

Not so much.

I’m likely to fold Little Miss Natchios back into the hind parts of my roster and take my run at point #27 with Cage, Domino or maybe even rank up that monkey guy.

In the meantime, I hadn’t realized how far Elektra had fallen off the meta. She was at one time a respectable champ, especially if you ran the Inequity limb of the mastery tree. Her bleeds seemed potent and she left “no loose ends.”

I remember her with nostalgia like the attractive and funny “You’ve Got Mail” Meg Ryan—but her effectiveness in today’s game tends to be more along the lines of…well, the 2021 version of Meg Ryan.

To crib a line from Drax: Why is Elektra?

The one thing that elektra does well is reduce ability accuracy of opponent by 85% while they are suffering from debuff. If you do have a better option for reducing AA, she is unfortunately a bench warmer.

Which would itself be pretty great if focus of the entire skill class hadn't shifted from crits/bleed to aar/removing debuffs within last year...

-85% daar while opponent are under debuffs (bleed, stun, armor break in her base kit) + combine this with 2/3 pacify thats -105% daar on stuns so that can essentially shut off lots of defensive abilities, she has guarenteed crits when opponent is under 25% hp which is kinda like an enhanced assassins', its not particularly good, but its nice to have. She has alright bleeds, but many better options out there.

I realize it’s hitting a sore spot, but I wish there had been a better effort to keep champs interesting from way back. Just synergy boosts, value boosts or something like that.

I appreciate the refreshes—they have all been well-intentioned efforts, even if the community didn’t like them all. It’s sad to see them have to be scaled back.

That’s not really the point I was making, and Elektra is not the worst skill champ. But when you have an awakened 6* champ, she’s a mercenary, you remember her as decent and decide to give a tough fight a whirl, you’d like a little more than the meager amount she has to offer. That’s all.

Her biggest asset is keeping teenage boys interested in the game.

People say the domino cut screen was borderline inappropriate... How about Elektra's "cheeky" design. Y'all know people have tried to determine if she's pulling a Jessica Rabbit (in the original cut) or not.

My 6* is a good benchwarmer. Yours can be too for the miniscule price of 10,000 6* shards.

Elektra has the highest base bleed damage in the game.

Domino seems to be bugged. She is taking a lot of damage back when ghost applies falter. Monkey guy is a better option for an easy solo.

When ghost dashes back and phasing fails, you take damage if you have falter because of crit fail. When ghost dashes back and does not purify the bleed due to AAR, you take the bleed damage too. One issue I saw was the crit fail damage seemed too high. May be the reflected damage is scaling with ghost's base damage instead of Domino's.

I'd say she's become a Poor Man's Psylocke, especially after the addition of that new Spider2099 Synergy that gives Duped Psylocke (Sig 34) -100% DAAR while the opponent has 0 Power which makes it basically indefinite. (Goes up to -125% at Max Sig)

Turn on the resonate mastery whcih is almost 100% uptime of a weakness debuff, as her passive is -85% AAR under a debuff. So almost straight out the gates, unduped you can do this. I have a soft spot as she was my first 4* but also as a 4/40 she powered me to 100% RTTL and was a solid counter for safeguard back in the day.

Electra is there to annoy me in arenas with suicides active.

Really, really annoying to fight with a non-immune champ with suis on in arena

As putatively the second best martial artist in the marvel universe and adept at hiding in the shadows, it's ironic that she's always been in the shadow of less proficient fighters.

And that when content was around that her skills were useful for, there were always better options for those pushing content.

    1. First year and early game? Og black widow was better.
    2. Rttl and safeguard came out, especially og vision? Crossbones was better and by then we also had blade, quake and AA, who were all better.
    3. Any year since then? Quake and AA rule the roost. You'd take 4* 5/50 quake or AA over 5/65 dupe Elektra for any content that needs AAR.

Plus she needed 2k ish in units to unlock the mastery that most players used to get value from her.

She's always been better than having to deal 100 hits to get past robots on safeguard. But she was never even remotely optimal.

And as someone with a sig 40 6* and every version of her from 2* to 6*, her dupe crits in the final 25%, is only useful for arena.

She was never the best option and you have to go back 6 years for her to be the second best option. She's been overshadowed since day 1.

Along with all the year 1 release characters, she could really do with a tune up.

Plus with resonate you get a consistent 85% DAAR without having to use specials
