True focus - abandon Elsa & Spidergwen?

I was planning to r3 Spidergwen next level up. My 2nd r3. with Elsa soon after.

With the arrival of the true focus node should I now abandon them?

How many champs have been nerfed by this node, and is there a list?

Gwen only *really* loses her evade vs unblockable specials imo. I would still r3 her. As for Elsa, i wouldnt r3 her regardless of the situation so ill let the Elsa “fans” answer that one.

Buffed up is three times more common than true focus if not even more. Guess I can't rank up most of my champs because they can't handle that one specific node

No champs have been nerfed by this node. FYI Gwen will also not be good for Size Matters, Buffed Up, Acid Wash, and many other nodes.

By this logic one shouldn't rank up any champs that rely on bleed damage because robots exist.

True focus sucks yeah but they're still useful in other parts of the game

Would probably do elsa for fun, spider gwen is really good, might be worthy. Go with your gut.

I agree completely.

In fact, Elsa's evade can hurt her against opponents who go Unstoppable; or opponents where it really helps if you can parry-stun them, like Dragon Man, Guilly 2099 or MODOK. So True Focus will actually help her against some opponents.

Nah, mate. Neither champ really rely on the countered ability the same way Ghost and Quake do. It's just a little extra for both Gwen and Elsa, but they'll both work while True Focus is active. So if you want to rank them up, go for it. Neither is a top priority for me even if I enjoy both champs, but I also don't feel like this whole True Focus kerfuffle affects my rank-up decision regarding them in any way.

I will admit true focus is a rather lazy node as it hurts other champs who aren’t cheat codes to the game, but nonetheless it doesn’t make sense to stop ranking the champs that suffer from it regardless.

I also have a duped 6* ghost. My understanding of this node is it will obsolete ghost and quake in future content as much as blade was obsoleted by act 6. Blade was never nerfed, he just gradually became unviable, er, by design. I didn’t even mention ghost as I’m assuming she will be phased out moving forwards and as such have no plans to r3 her. So I’m only asking you all about champs who are deemed to merely be collateral damage.

There’s no freak out my end. I’m simply asking a question.

My only other science r3 option is sig 20 cap. I already have a max sig 5*. So I’m looking to develop my roster by checking with all you big shots whether spidergwen is still an option or not. Good to see she still gets the thumbs up.

Re. Elsa. I’m aware the forum is divided on her. She’s always performed well for the fights I use her for. My only complaint against her is nick fury is so overpowered dead or alive it’s hard to bring her to as many fights as I’d like. Maybe there’s other stuff I’m missing too.

The other useful feedback is that everyone here is overall happy and supportive of the true focus node. That differs from my initial, less informed reaction. I’m assuming it’ll be on the grandmaster next week and all bosses post 7.2 and new variants and I’m wondering how it’ll affect my amateur spidergwen etc play. I suppose I’ll have to be more open minded.

I got elsa to r3 for tb and dont regret it one bit she is incredible and underrated skill champ not overrated by any means imo a top10 in skill category. Can cold snap so opposition cant evade bust a champ n go full tilt with crazy incinerate and switch it up as n when u want her to, shes rapid quick compared to most champs u dont want to cold snap then dont. Just always finish combo on a light attack n not a medium.

If people cant play ghost ghost is bad if they cant quake then quake is bad they cant use elsa then elsa is bad not there ability to use the champ is bad rather the champ is bad 😂😂

For now it's on boss Island and SoP. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it was added as a global for the entirety of 7.3. Kabam is shoving it in everything they are currently making

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Gwen went to r3. I wish I could say she did great against the GM, she or I didn’t. I’ve posted in the main SoP thread. I’m still very happy with the rank up, regardless.
