Sp2 recovery time?

Is anyone else seeing a issue when after throwing a sp2?

Fighting massacre in aw using warlock... threw an sp2 and by the time I was down throwing it (yes it hit and he wasn't blocking) I ate a 5 hit combo.. the AI is recovering way faster from the knock down then I am actually throwing the special... been noting the same thing when using venom as well.
