Anybody play on a current gen ipad mini?

Since the update it looks like the older ios hardware is having the hardest time. I have an iphone 7+ and would be willing to get an ipad mini if it would help out.
If you have one can you please let me know what ya think?

I'm using mini5 ,it crashes every 40mins of gameplay, but it's more to do with the game itself than the processing power since another ipad i used has an A9 processor and works the same
