Game has become a lot more grindy and is starting to become a problem...

Kabam is moving towards making the game more grindy, first by removing summoner appreciation calendar and replacing it with "Oh you forgot to defeat 10 champions today? sorry, you just lost 1 day worth of rewards. oh you are not paying for the premium package? now you'll get less 6* and 5* shards than you would have gotten from the calendar itself if we still kept it."
They are slowly making it so that the game becomes a MMORPG levels of grindy. Now they are adding these grindy objectives as well.
also apparently you have to finish at least one difficulty of objectives in September TO EVEN HAVE ACCESS TO OCTOBER SIDE EVENT. while some argue that October might have the spiciest rewards this year, I don't think that's worth it for having to skip September.

I was coming to the forums today to make a post about this months event when I found one talking about it, thank you. This months event is terrible. Kabam even knows that this event is boring and no one is doing it since they sent out the in game mail telling people to “Don’t Sleep…”. If you want us to play, give us a real side event! There feels like no incentive to actually play other than knowing a month from now you might get something good for all your random grinding. I don’t mind having special solo objective, but as a side thing, like the ones for winning with Shang Chi. They’re optional, the rewards aren’t exceptional, it’s just an excuse to play a 3* Shang Chi and earn some small things in return. But when these special objectives are the basis of an entire two month long event, I feel bored out of my mind thinking about it. Hopefully next month and any future months don’t have the same gimmick of “no side event”, it’s not a good way to make a month of this game.

edit. by skipping the September side quest I of course mean finishing the easiest difficulty objectives, because if you really skipped it, it would mean that you don't have access to October.

They should have made these champs more easily available in arena if they had objectives like this.
Agree on point that for two months combined, rewards are okish, nothing extraordinary.
On top of that, buffs like Gamora doesn't help the game at all. Also, I would like to see buff of og avengers and dr. Strange, who are more popular characters.

Yes. You can enter all difficulties if you complete the lowest objective this month.

I personally don't have a problem with having no side quests but the objectives are simply unimaginative. They should've kept fewer objectives and kept them related to the monthly quest. I 100% completed the cavalier EQ and inadvertently managed to compete the first week's objectives. I'm going to chill out the rest. Have better things to do in life.

you know something is legit when the post is getting way more agrees than disagrees... kascam yall better be taking some note cause this aint it G's. stop tweaking and making it seem like we the community, have to live off your game... trying to make the game this much of a hassle all while the game breaks every week lol

Reaction: I think it's just a phase due to the recent mess caused by the engine update. The department fixing that is probably also responsible for implementing events. Coders tend to catch all the **** and none of the praise, while also being understaffed. Usually.

Grind: That said, MCoC has always been overly time-consuming and grindy, imo. It's just that the fighting (what I'm here for) was fun enough for me to deal with it.

Wish: There could definitely be more QoL time-saving features for MCoC. It's not like keeping my in-game-time up is gonna make me spend more. It's already made me take months off, honestly.

Expectation: Noise around the objectives has been made, which is important and great. Kabam tends to take community strife somewhat seriously, so I expect them to make the objectives less grindy. Kabam makes nothing from gating this stuff behind any amount of grind; they could just be 1 fight each and the game economy wouldn't be noticeably affected.

Grind should only be used to limit high-volume resource gain, imo. Like the arena, for example.

They will not.
Even though a large number of people came to tell them they hate it, those same people still are doing all of the objectives.
If everyone's willpower is weaker than their addiction to rewards, the game team has won. They have no reason to listen or care about player opinions.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I had the same impressions, until I saw that you need to fight against or "fight as" one of the mentioned champs. So I just took my 6* Storm and let it autoplay in the first quest of the Shang Chi SQ. This made it easy to clear the objectives.
( I hope that all of you were talking about those objectives and not the one where you have to use Shang Chi in fights. If so, my bad; and I agree with the objective being an absolute waste of time.)

What is worse, it is a grind for nearly no reward. I defeat 100 6*s for below UC level stuff. If I had explored Cav EQ prior to this (as many people have), I would now have to kill those 6*s for no real reason.

Same w the 6.2 and beyond - it has no real purpose. Rewards are bs low and what will it get me, one quest exploration? Let's say I focus on 7.1.4. Great, one explored quest for units I saved for 7.3.

The long term goal here is october event but judging by the looks of it so far, the effort:reward ratio is extremely unfavorable

This is 100% true. They pivoted back to super grindy content and it’s destroying people. I feel the same, I’m taking a month or two off for the first time in 4 years. Lost all interest at this point

Week 2 was grindy. Weeks 1 and 3 aren't really. As for the Calendar, you can literally do it on Auto, if you're not already doing 10 Fights. Not that grindy.
