Why don’t cheating alliances get docked Rating?

The last war of season 28 we fought [name removed as per forum rules] and they won on Fight Time but were subsequently docked for cheating.

This loss caused us to drop to #51 in war rating so we will start next season with Tier 2 points yet they will start with Tier 1 points.

How is this fair?!? You need to also dock war rating by at least 150 points and this will be both fair and serve as a deterrent to others

If Kabam have docked them, they have been found to have breached the terms and conditions, and thus cheated.
How is it fair to be able to keep war rating (which was gained from non honest means)?

Feels like a slap on the wrist rather than an punishment that will deter cheating. No wonder cheating is rampant

That is what used to happen before. But if they dock ratings as well, those cheaters go down into lower brackets and can win most of the time vs the easier teams there since they have better rosters.
For example, if ASR dropped from T1 to T3, there wouldn't be a team in T3 that would beat them. It's like an instant loss for those teams.
It used to happen and the alliances complained. So it was changed.

I understand that but if they dropped to T3 they wouldn’t be able to make Masters again in that next season and that will be a big deterrent.

As it stands in the example I provided we are at risk of not making Masters again because we are starting in T2 whereas the alliance that cheated is still starting in T1.

The problem is that you're throwing under the bus a bunch of T3 allilances that the cheaters will have to steamroll over to get back to T1. You are in effect taking wins away from those alliances who instead of getting reasonably fair match ups they might expect to win half the time will be getting matched against an alliance they have no hope of winning against. Yes, you're beating up on the cheating alliance, but you're doing it by ripping off the arms of innocent alliances to hit them with.

What do you tell them? That their sacrifice wasn't in vain?

Incidentally, I should mention that long ago when this issue first cropped up I suggested as alternate punishment multiplier penalty. In other words, the cheating alliance keeps their rating and tier so they continue to get matched against equally strong alliances, but their multiplier is reduced for a set number of in-season wars (so you can't work off the penalty off season). So a tier 1 alliance who cheats stays tier 1, but their multiplier drops from x8 to x6, say, and it takes a certain number of in-season wins to erase that penalty. Let's say two wins per tier, so after two wins their multiplier corrects to x7, and then after two more wins the multiplier corrects to the normal x8 for their tier.

To me that makes more sense than docking rating points, which creates more innocent victims of the cheating alliance. This way, no one else has to pay for their penalty.
