Dex Not Working??

I’m having an issue where if an enemy hits my block with a special attack and i try to dex the rest of the special it just doesn’t work? I’m not sure if anyone else is having this problem but i would love to know

I've given up on it ever working, I've experienced times where the screen says dexterity but I've still gotten a face full of special damage.
