Question about the rage slumber 7.2.4 ihulk cheese

Does he need to be at a minimum rank to do this? Everything I found online is of r4/5s and equivalent. I took mine to r3 partially leveled but keep dying on the second fight.

In all the gameplay online, people were killing the opponents before immortality expired but I’m unable to do that, any tips?
