What's up with this jacked up AI?

As if the game isn't broken enough with the parry timing and random other engine issues, we have to deal with garbage AI like this? The Apoc fakes a block to draw me in to get blasted in the face?!?! I've spent years hitting blocks while trying to bait a special but now we have this junk? How are we supposed to think there is any integrity in playing this game in it's current state?

The AI has definitely been special intercepting more often. As annoying as it is, if I can do it, so can the AI I suppose

If I get special intercepted for being sloppy I kick my own rear for that. It's the fake block that drew me in that is new and absolutely absurd

That’s not that awful, since there was a super brief block fake. Reminds me of Venom’s old twitchiness. There’s probably been a good bit of AI tweaking (please throw your special for heaven’s sake!) which feels shady given all of the issues on the player side.

My issue is when the AI basically is holding block until the moment you dash up tap it’s block. Shallow special intercepting there is out of bounds in my opinion.

Look at the good side of things, you at least didn't get re-parryed, got comboed into oblivion and immediately get hit by a Special.

THAT is the most annoying and most ridiculous of all the things. I can never interrupt a combo from the defender yet somehow they can do it repeatedly now.

It’s been a big topic in my alliance - the AI is whack across all game modes since yesterday. Shallow intercepts, mid-combo retaliation, stutter steps and fake-outs.
If it was just me, I could accept that it’s my imagination. Either we’re having some kind of shared delusion, or the AI is newly jacked up. Pretty sure it’s the latter.

I'm hoping some folks are recording fights like I am so we have videographic proof of these AI changes in behavior.

Also I'm pretty sure this isn't something a player would be able to do as quickly as the AI does since we would have to press on different parts of the screen to fake the block and then deliver the special almost immediately

(New) Shallow evades with immediate retribution. (New) Mid-combo specials, I'm assuming it's using reparry timing. (More) Special intercepts. (More) Odd attack patterns/timing. No change in gameplay on my part.

It's actually much easier to make a difficult AI ^{(aka impossible without cheese)} than a fun AI. You can argue challenge, but an AI that could counter your actions perfectly a millisecond after your input would put most people off.

An interesting part of all this is the AI doing things the player can’t. Sometimes that’s ok. I accept that Luke Cage and King Groot as defenders can slide across half the screen to try to hit me with their specials, even though I can’t do that as an attacker. I expect it and account for it. But I’m not a fan of the AI having much quicker recovery times than players do. If I throw a full combo into the defender’s block, I’m toast. These days a defender can throw a 5-combo into my block, then somehow have time to backdraft / shallow intercept me with a special before I can retaliate. That just doesn’t sit right.

AI also throws specials just before or during at some point of a heavy. And I m not talking about Ant Man heavy situation or Old Man Logan with two moves and a bit of delay between them.

... completely agree to it.. never experienced it before.. but I m facing this issue since update... ..I tot it was my fault of running into him.. but then it's happening almost everytime .. opponents block and while u go to hit the block.. bang.. they throw a special... Surely will love to hear something on it from the mods... Video is a great proof to confirm its happening...

I’ve seen it a couple of times. It’s awfully hard to capture unless you are videoing all the time.

There is a slightly slower combo cadence (I think) you can use to “extend” the combo timing, for example when trying to get to the right time to throw a special and avoid encroaching stun. I wonder if sometimes that isn’t what has happened and the player has just gotten too slow or that it is simply a dropped input that the AI turns on which looks like it was an interrupted combo.

It doesn’t happen often in my experience.

Ya, happens when using omega red so you can stay closer to your opponent longer. Just curious if an opponent actually throws a special while you’re doing a regular combo. That seems wild so i’d wanna see it, since nobody i know has ever brought it up

AW and Arena defenders, yes. I've even been reparried by them.

You shouldn’t make a habit of dashing in when the opponent has a bar of power. You’re setting yourself up for a special intercept.

you do realize that the opponent has a bar of power for about 75% of the fight though, right?

This was the first time that I ever encountered this. I was so surprised when I was eating a special while my combo was halfway. Don’t usually record my fights but if it happens again, I may start doing it.
