Storm X and how underrated she is
Ok. Let me start this TED Talk off with the fact that nobody talks about Storm X. I have her as a 6* and she gets me through so much content. Let’s go through her kit. And no, you don’t need her awakened.
Energy attacks: useful against champs with high physical resistance
Energy resistance: mitigates energy damage
Passive stun: if the opponent removes stun debuff, she places passive stun. A useful ability that has allowed me combos of m-l-m-m-l-l-l-m in the past. It is effective against tenacity and masochism and some annoying skill champs (you know the ones). Sure it isn’t useful for shortened stun durations or stun immunity (or even debuff immunity), but it is still an absolutely useful ability.
Ice Tempest: cold snap/frostbite immunity and incoming attacks have 60% chance to glance
Lightning Tempest: -100% shock potency and chance to stun the opponent with basic attacks (2% chance per prowess maxing out at 8 prowess)
Knocked down: she activates alternate tempest. Retaliate against the opponent with double the prowess
Prowess buffs: gain a new one every time either champ fills bar of power. First 3 are indefinite. 6+ prowess buffs makes her unblockable for 1.8s when she uses a special attack.
Heavies: charge a passive prowess up to 100% and throw the special when charging. Useful for players who can chain heavy charging into specials on a whim.
Special 1: passive slow during special (intercept unstoppable opponents with this special). Ice Tempest: stack prowess buffs with each hit until the end of the special. Inflict a 14s coldsnap passive (evade counter against debuff immune).
Special 2: each hit inflicts 9s shocks (each shock purified inflicts instant shocks of equal damage. The damage is okay). Lightning Tempest: shock dmg increased up to 90% based on opponent’s power. Each prowess buff reduce def power rate by 25%. Can’t invert power (useful for not giving the opponent power during the special with at least 4 current prowess buffs active).
Special 3: if both tempests are active: increase special damage by 4k attack rating. When special ends: activate alternate tempest for 35s.
She doesn’t lack dmg and has great utility. Yes, she has low crit rating, but the utility should more than compensate for it. I know that White Magneto and Apoc are used by everyone, but why not Storm X. Let’s raise awareness of Storm X’s usefulness.
