Plat pool

So I ranked my 5* plat pool for variant 8. I feel like he is really underwhelming. Other merc champs seem to do better. Am I missing something with him?

Eh, as a platpool fan ever since I got him pretty early last year, but he doesn’t have a ton going for him. He has a lot of cool utility, but the randomness of it makes him so unreliable as to be nearly unusable in endgame content unless you have him at like 6* R3. The problem with content now is that you typically need to have some guaranteed way to do several different game mechanics, or the fights are ridiculous. His abilities being mostly random means that you could take him into a fight hoping for lots of bleeds, and only get the occasional one off a special. You can draw new cards, but still.

On the bright side, he’s still fairly exclusive, well designed, and has fun animations. He definitely does have utility, and if you’re one of those people who play the game for fun, then he’s your guy. A lot of the cards have interesting interactions that takes a little time to learn, but make longer fights more fun for their uniqueness. I get why some don’t like him but I also think that if he were in a less stacked class, he would definitely shine more.

He's pretty awesome to me. I've had him Awakened since his release. You need to pay attention to what Buffs are present.

I only use my platpool for lower SEQ content on auto fight, he speeds up those auto fights

He isn’t a super strong champion for variant 8 but his regen makes him super survivable. I used him a good bit. You can screw up and get back to full health easily enough

His synergy that gives him furies (w Ham) is very beneficial. He is rng, but it's not bad. There is a way to pull more cards via SP2, so be sure to improve your odds that way.
