Kabam hasnt even announced the gifting event after last years fiasco with no real solution, would be hilarious to see all this people farming and find out the gifting event DOESN'T happen this year, or its setup behind a paywall like "summoner's appreciation"
I'm still on the fence with this one. It's been a legitimate action since these Events started. Personally, I have one Account. However, I'm not convinced it's a major issue. If someone has that much time and energy on their hands, it's really not affecting me. The other side of it is I could see how it could be milked. I'm just not completely convinced it's unfair. I think this has more to do with the "competitiveness of F2P" than anything. Which BG is concerned with. I'm not of the same mindset of F2P/P2P, or any comparison or competition therein. I think there's way too much stock invested in that pride. I suppose I'm cool either way. If something is actually egregious or unfair in an imbalancing way, I'm all for action. If it's just because of having eyes on the plates of others, meh.
I 100% agree with this. People in top alliances already spend a lot of money or grind their life away to stay at the top. This hardly matters to them. Everyone else who is not as competitive is hardly going to be affected by a couple of hundred people gifting themselves from their alt accounts. Bots existed in the past and they still do. Whether they farm 50k units or 200k units, it really doesn’t affect me or my game progression in any way. If someone wants to grind non stop for the next 45 days to gift themselves GGC, so be it. Why should this be a problem? And really interested to know how this upsets game balance? I have heard people fighting that SoP by handing out t5cc to cavalier players really upset game balance. But we are still here. And the game is still here. What balance did it upset and how is this event going to do it yet again?
For real, all arguments about game “balance” and game “health” are just stupid IMO, majority of the players don’t play competitive AW and there are already huge balance issues for those who do.
I created an account in August 2020 intended to be my main. Being new, I did dumb stuff, primarily using units to buy PHCs, and eventually, I created a second account in September 2020 that became my main, and I mothballed the first account.
In April this year, my alliance had some turnover and I brought my “first” account, now my mini, into the group, where I ran both accounts for six months or so. Last month, sensing this was not healthy for me and it was taking over my life, I shelved the mini yet again. As of today, it has 7K units, 500K battlechips waiting to be cracked, is Level 43, and has completed Act 4 (having done all of it before the recent changes).
Some people are saying that if it isn’t Level 55 (or even 45) or isn’t Uncollected, then I shouldn’t be allowed to drain every last unit from it and gift my main all of it, even though I earned those units 100% legitimately through a year’s work.
Agree that the new accounts farming units from the revamped early content need to be considered, but not all “alt” accounts are equal.
Pardon me if this has already been said, I did as much reading as I could. But why can't the solution be to simply change how gifting works? Why not allow players to buy the gifting crystals and choose to keep them or gift them? Personally, I'm in an alliance where there is not Line communication and I don't really know any of them, it's just chill and laidback to gain AQ resources/etc. But I don't necessarily feel comfortable gifting any of them crystals and actually have faith in receiving some back.
I think gifting throughout the community is nice in theory, but it has not and will not ever be used as a true community-builder. It is purely always about the rewards. So why not actually just change how the event works entirely? Maybe I'm oversimplifying it, but just my thoughts.
I found his mail name was more funny “fartyfarts@farts.com” , but that also means that kabam ID system are flawed if a user is able to just write in random name and kabam don’t have any way to confirm this mail name exist.
It was just trolling. You can't create non existent emails

Oh... I got trolled hard then.
Nope. You were right. You can create pretty much anything for email. @Daddrieda
It’s honestly baffling that people can’t see the issue. Anyone who has ever grinded arena for units knows that this is extremely ridiculous amounts of them. And they all say time = money but I’d say it’s more effort = money and this takes little to no effort. And this absolutely affects the revenue stream for kabam because why would any sane player spend on gifting when you can just create 10 accounts and get units worth a 1000$
Those who spend 1000$ do so because they think their time is worth more than the money. People who are farming for these units are not the ones who were or are going to spend more than 5-10$
This doesn't seem like anything that needs to be addressed or fixed. It is something anyone could do if they wanted to put in the effort. If someone wants to work 2 jobs to make more money do we need to create a limit that a person can only work one job to make it fair to those unwilling to work a second job?

So do that then and stop complaining. Unless you're the CFO for Kabam, why are you so bothered? We've had input issues for months and that didn't stop the game. You think a gifting event is going to suddenly break everything?
I have to admit that he makes Great Points. Being able to Farm that many Units to gift yourself is absurd. It’s a tricky situation for Kabam too because they can’t tell which accounts are Alts and which aren’t.
I think a simple solution would be to have a creation restriction. Essentially you can only gift if your account has been live for a certain amount of time.
I’m sure I’ve overlooked something’s but this is off the top of my head.

Anyone who thinks this should be allowed is not thinking about the health of the game at all. I care about this game and want it to continue that’s why I’m “complaining”
Leave the "health of the game" decisions to Kabam. You're wasting your energy on something you cannot control.

You want people to not discuss a part of the game, on a forum that is entirely devoted to discussing the game. It’s almost as though you just don’t want people offering opinions that don’t agree with you.
I didn’t see you saying that the poster who wrote that open letter should leave the health of the game decisions to Kabam. Were they wasting their time?

…yeah, I’m discussing it. Without telling people to stop discussing it - I.e. the point of a forum.
I’m open to being wrong, if Kabam come and say “hey guys, we’ve thought about this and it’s absolutely fine and can go ahead.” Then I trust their judgement on what’s best for the game.
Or would you rather me just tell you to stop talking about this subject, and to get over yourself?

Thank you all for the impassioned discussions here. When we made these changes to the early game, we knew that there could be some potential for this kind of behaviour. We were already looking into ways to make sure that this can't be exploited, but don't have the details right now.
But, as @TheCaptain412 said above, not all Alt accounts are bad, and we want to make sure we take that into account as well. There's a lot of nuances, and it needs to be worked out more before we can be confident in a plan.
(No, we're not going to announce that plan early I am not going to give the blueprints for the minimum that has to be done to be able to exploit mass creating new alt accounts)

Atleast tell us if we're wasting time by opening alts and grinding as of today

I recommend going into the game files finding the gifting feature and control alt delete
What will happen to the health of the game in that case? No one will spend on the event if the event doesn’t exist.

Well yeah, you didn't say that word for word but when someone is discussing potential game issues and you say leave it to Kabam instead of wasting energy, what does that mean? Saying, "Leave it to Kabam" is not an opinion, it's nonsense and useless when people very well know that our voices do have a say (albeit if there's a big enough reaction) in matters. That's a fact.

Miike, just tell us so we don't waste our time. Personally I think gifting should be removed until the kinks are fully sorted out but keeping players in the dark isn't okay.
Any accounts (1+year old) that only played arena 90%+ of the time, who then decide to be generous to already whale accounts, let's not pretend they are legitimate. Let's hit the arena botters, unit sellers, where it hurts. They aren't good for the community, and already drive up all arena scores.

I doubt you’ll want to answer this now, but do anticipate the minimum something will be level based, time based, progression based, or something else? Thanks
So it essentially means that there will be some form of progression based cap for the gifting events. Bare minimum to be done means do this much to get the gifting event up.
