Which of these types is better and easier, and why, while taking into consideration the current title progression and the roster.

Class based is easier to filter, but i found that opponents were dying with roughly the same number of hits for all variations so I think that they are equiparable, though that might be because I have the roster to fully take advantage of any Cav. EQ node kabam created. If I had to look at it from the point of view of my alt account (cavalier only) I would probably prefer class based nodes ^_^

I don’t think either is better, per se. I’d say that they should work more tags into the nodes because right now a lot of champions are left out, whereas with the class system every champion fell into at least one category.

X-Men, Robots, etc. are tags that could greatly expand the options for a given quest line.

I liked the tags better because I could bring any champ and ignore the tags (which was very helpful for whichever one had the Tigra and the Luke boss for me). Bringing a tagged champed just made it go faster, but I wasn't punished for not bringing one like we would be for the class EQ.

This.... the nodes are designed to help while using certain champs, but it certainly isn't required at all.

This is mostly also the case with class nodes. Either bring champs from that class and the support node counters the challenge node for you, or you bring a counter to the challenge node.
Did that several times, for biohazard, that horrible miss node etc.
