Let's be frank, the high end comp scene is now dead unless you are a wealthy summoner. The gifting event was the worst mistake Kabam has done. We are now seeing players out right quitting or pulling back from the game in some form. I'm guilty in this I spent $500 on ggcs, but that being said I see only one solution to this problem that can restore faith in the game as well as solve many problems the game has right now... Remove prestige. I know, I know crazy right? Hear me out. what're the problems that are barring people from fully enjoying the game? In what way is prestige healthy to this game? Prestige is now simply a metric to judge a persons own wallet size and not an indication of skill or talent. It's not fun in the slightest. Who wants to rank up the same five champions as everyone else to be "competitive"? No one. I personally don't like playing Doom or silver surfer. I want to rank up Howard the Duck or Ultron and not be excluded from competing in the games top end. Think of all of the great things that would come from this. Player choice. Being able to Ally with people because you like them or that they have talent, not that they spend more on the game than other people. More variety and uniqueness between players. The benefits are numerous. What are the downsides? Kabam makes less money. I'm not trying to say you don't deserve your pay or the money you make, but when is enough money enough? If you truly cared about the whole community, not just how much money you can squeeze out of the top 1%. This game can triumph over this colossal mistake that you have made. Now is the time. REMOVE PRESTIGE! I've decided to personally cut back on how much I spend on this game. I don't get the same enjoyment from buying six stars as I do earning them.

P.s. This is more me speaking for other people. I gave up on the prestige race a long time ago. I don't think this will ever happen i'm not sure anyone at Kabam that still loves this game or community even hold the power to make a change like this. It's just simply to profitable to try and fix it. I would love to see top 100 or even 1000 players come out and say they are done and also vow to cut back on spending, but I also don't think that will happen. Remember this; if you murder all the competition no one will be around to see you at the top.

My solution would be to power creep the rewards to keep the game in check again. Removing prestige removes the whole endgame purpose of the game so that's a bad idea imo

For the normal folks like us..........

There was never the need to select prestige champs exclusively from top 5-10.

For "Us" easy going peasants, even if we rankup from top 30-40 even 50 prestige champs, it doesnt effect the alliance or single players "prestige wise" as long as we take our picked champs to R3 Sig 200 which we will.

And of course, the one r4(possibly) we will get from 7.4. will definitely would help to not worry about prestige issues.

Most of the us player base in the game are not in top100 AQ anyways. Rest of us just stay at our level and get by with what we have.
We can't have 14k prestige summoners everywhere, just like we don't have 13k prestige players that common either.

Another way to look at it:stop worrying about the competition and just have fun playing a game. There are no real rewards, just virtual stuff you can use to win more virtual stuff. Play the game, grow your skills and roster, and try to win the fights in front of you.

If players want to spend bajillions on the chance their alliance might get a little higher rank in AW, more power to them, but in the end it is a goal with no real reward. It only matters if you convince yourself it matters.

AQ is the only place where prestige matters. Those who spent to get all those higher ranks were already at the top. No one should care this much about other people's rosters.

In what way is prestige the endgame goal for the game? Shouldn’t the end goal be having a fun diverse roster of champions you enjoy playing. Not one high end player I’ve spoken to likes prestige. It’s a awful mechanic that only purpose is to separate people that spend more from those that don’t. Mcoc is one of the few games that even uses a end game progression model like this and it dictates so much of the game. It personal sounds to me that there is quite a few whales here that are trying to justify playing into the system. Explain to me the benefits of prestige? I’ll wait.

Can we stop reacting to this Gifting Event like it doesn't happen every year, contain larger Rewards, and by the end of the following year hasn't broken the game? Spending to get more isn't a new concept to this game.

there are 2 solutions to your removing prestige thought
1 Prestige only matters if you are in one of the top competitive alliances and if you are in one of those there will be some whales in them so if you don't want to spend and if you don't want prestige either don't compare yourself with them and rank up whoever you want to (it is your account isn't it) or go to a lower alliance where it doesn't matter anyway.
2 LET EVERYONE IN THE WORLD BECOME A MULTI MILIONAIRE SO THAT EVERYONE CAAN WHALE OUT ON EVERYTHING and everyone can be happy.

Finally an actual argument! Alright let me get one misconception out of the way. Like I stated before I quit the prestige race a long time ago. I only rank up champs I like. The problem is you are going to have a lot of disenfranchised players who thought they could remain competitive spending less than $10000 dollars a year on this game. Those people will quit or semi retire. Here in lies the problem if you truly do make the top end unachievable for even moderate spenders they will quit the game. Which will cause more divide than there was before. Why does this divide matter? Because often those mid spenders that are quitting the race are youtubers or influencers to some extent and those people tend to take people with them. Which means less money for Kabam which means less content for all the players. If we kill off the competitive scene and the YouTube scene people this game will effectively go into slow mode. This problem could possible fix itself with things like solo competitive, but what if that mode is affected somehow by prestige? I’m just saying it’s not a healthy metric, but I do appreciate the constructive criticism and will gladly agree to disagree, thank you.

I’m not saying whales shouldn’t exist and as I’ve said in the post and in other comment I don’t care about my prestige. I’m not comparing myself to top spenders. I just see the long term ramifications to this system and it’s affect on the whole player base please read my counter argument to the other guy if you’d like to know what I mean by that. A game needs a healthy mix and this recent event destroyed that.

Are u new?.. cause the gifting event has broken the game for a bit every year.. and then u start seeing deals and so on...
