Cost of 6* Sig stones has more than quadrupled - why?

The recent 6* Sig stone offer is truly mind-blowing.
30 x random 6* Sig stones for 5500 units. I’m assuming they’re random because the offer doesn’t specify generic.
So first Kabam fires up the Prestige race to hit warp speed with the Gifting rewards, then more than quadruples the price of 6* Sig stones.
How are players expected to read this any other way than pre-meditated price gauging?
Please enlighten me as to how the Sig stone economy at Kabam works because there is actually someone who deliberately sets the cost right?!??!?
So some has deliberately brought out an offer that has more than quadrupled the cost of 6* Sigs overnight. *clap clap*

A resource may be sold at good value today then the cost may double the next time we see the same offer. Or vice versa.
The idea is to only buy offers I value. I skip the rest and keep it moving. 🤷
