Why was I forced to update?

Kabam, why the H E double hockey sticks was I forced to update to a version that crashes?
I like to use the synergies in arena and other game modes and it's a hard habbit to break and because of your bugged update I get crashes non-stop.
Whats the timeframe on a fix? Are you doing a hotfix update for this or do we have to wait till next months release?
