Falcon's lock on timer not appearing (?)

I was playing epic difficulty side quest (mountain) and was on path 2. While fighting Darkhawk with Falcon (unduped), after lock on expired from Darkhawk, the timer didn't appear so I thought maybe it was a glitch or something and it's just not appearing. I waited for a few seconds and then thought that the lock on must be active now. So I try to perform recon scan, and it doesn't work. I dash back and try it again and again, but eventually get cornered and get smacked by Darkhawk. Is it something Darkhawk could do? Or is it a bug?
