Make the Contest Great Again...

The contest has really become stagnate over the past year with much of the same taking place each month. EQ, SQ, same old arena, and variant here and there and over and over and over again. There have been some cool champs released but it's the same thing... oh and objectives fun fun. Let's face it when the contest first started the goal was mainly to acquire new champions. As the contest evolved new end game content was created that made it really a challenge and most players were eagerly anticipating new content each and every month but the game has become stuck in a rut and the competitiveness of alliances is pretty much gone (with the exception of big spending alliances). Below are ways I see the game team can recapture some of the magic the contest had when it first came out and at the same time satisfy the spenders.

1. Prestige:
The first area the game team should do to make the contest somewhat competitive again not only at an alliance level but also individual player level is adjust the Prestige calculations. Lets face it your prestige only being the top 5 champs you have is ridiculous and while this may have been good for the game in 2015 there are over 200 champs in game now and lots more content. How do we fix this well here goes...

Prestige should be based on a number of factors not just one. Here is just one example how this can be recalibrated..
Top 50 champions instead of top 5. yes that is right top 50 as there is much more availability of 3,4,5 star sig stones and this will encourage players on both FTP and spenders to rank up more than just God tier champs or high prestige champs

Reward players for completing content by adding this metric to the prestige calculation. Say for each Variant completed that will be 25 additional prestige points or fulling exploring monthly EQ would be additional 10 ect. Completing and Exploring Abyss, ROL, LOL could receive additional prestige points as well. This will introduce a skill element to the prestige calculation.

Finally reward players prestige points for different milestones (long term) in the game such as reaching a certain number of quest fights, arena fights and add in the new PVP mode to award skill players prestige for number of wins in a row or monthly win totals... Something to that affect

2. Bases and Fractions
With the death of MROC I think the game team can bring in some elements from this failed initiative and bring in to MCOC. Let's face it the fractions (bases) in MROC seemed to be something that Bases could have been initially for MCOC. Bringing in a fractions / bases feature would be a great addition to the game as depending on what fraction you belong to individually would let you focus on a certain number of champions or class for a specific time period and once you have finished with these objectives then switch to a new fraction. For alliances bases may be a good way to expand on AW and AQ to the next level. Lets face it AQ and AW are boring and by adding bases in this could revamp these modes to go beyond just clearing a map but having to use resources and a combination of champs to clear different objectives each cycle.

3. New long term EQ and game mode (MicroRealm)
Something many players like myself liked was the big head micro champions from the Deadpool min quest. I think this is an area that the game team can expand on and create an entire new battlerealm within the battlerealm with an Ant Man theme called the micro realm. This would have to be done carefully so that it's not just a re-skin of champs with the same abilities and these champions should only be for this game mode. This would also need to be long term strategy with a new micro quest coming each month and only from these quest could items (gears, etc.) could be obtained for the normal champions. Also I think in the beginning this micro champion pool would need to be limited and later expanded. Another option would be to replace 1 and 2 star champions and make these micro verse champions and really they don't have much use in the game except for special arenas. Personally I'd like to see all 1 star champions be converted to these micro verse champions and then expand on the roster from there. Again this should be a long term type of quest that incentivizes players to be in this for the long term.

4. Trophy champions
I'll say this I have been playing since the games inception and I still don't have a Kang even though I have opened countless Greater Gifting Crystals. Currently the major trophy champions are Kang, Thanos, Weapon X, Goldpool, PlatPool, Punisher and Immortal Iron Fist. The first 3 are only available 1 time of year during the gifting event and you either have to be extremely lucky or fork out a mortgage payment to get them and any rarity. What I'm proposing is to one.. expand on the Trophy champions to include the likes of Dark Phoenix, Jessica Jones, The old Human Torch, and someone new like maybe baby groot(micro realm). To go a step further similar to the last Deadpool challenge have these on a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly basis where players have a chance to compete for these trophy champs rather than just get lucky in crystals.

5. Expand the Basic and Class catalyst arenas
The T4CC hasn't changed in over 4 years other than removing BC cost. Enough said on this as title says it all

6. Bring back 1V1 matches but expand on them to make them like a roster gauntlet. Treat this like an arena with milestones where you keep fighting as difficulty increases utilizing a players entire roster. This could be a good way for a player to earn gold, bc, units, loyalty or whatever reward. This could be a weekly contest to see who can go the furthest kinda similar to incursions but without the hacks and need to wait forever for a partner to move.

These are just a few ideas that would bring both fun and competitiveness back to the game and feel free to offer constructive feedback to this post.
