Is Peni Parker overrated?

Maybe i just haven’t taken her to the right content but I got a 6 star peni Parker and took her to r2 immediately with intention to r3. It could be the rotation or crazy inflated hit counter but she just isn’t my cup of tea.

Anyone swear by her with some tips they’d like to share?

@Hieitaku is more skilled then I am but there are a couple points I’ve picked up from him-

- great defender (even if you don’t play her because you don’t like her just slap her on defense)
- Can get up too some nutty nutty damage on the special 2
- That sig can be really useful (counters Fury’s for example)

there’s a lot more that I’m skipping over but those are a couple things I’ve gathered about her from being on the forums and talking with people that like her. I’m sure someone will come along and write an essay about why you should use her and put this little comment to shame

Do you run suicides? She has no way of increasing her attack so suicides pretty much gives her a flat +60% more damage which is HUGE.

Everyone says she's a great defender, but my duped Rank 5 5 star maybe gets 1 kill a war. Maybe I'm just not putting her on the right node.

I R5 mine for AW defense but don't like playing her offensively because she feels clunky. her synergies are great tho and yes she's a little bit overrated

Thanks for the shout Spidey. Other than the mentioned inflated hits and ramp up, she's pretty straightforward to utilize and the only real issue I had with her is with her animations when I haven't upgraded my phone yet (it's too high def for older devices).

For her damage: build charges, launch sp2. That's it. Of course, that ramp up depends on the scale of the defender and nodes present.

For utility, when fully unlocked, she has a couple of DoT immunities, power drain, power lock, power burn, and heal block.

For synergies, she has a couple of very useful ones, specifically with Mysterio and the Spider-Verse heroes. She can also gain access to parrying noncontacts and stun immunity.

So yeah. I'd say she's a pretty useful champion in anyone's roster.

Most notably, in the right scenario, she has one of the nuttiest sp2 in the game. Here's a 4-star rank 3 Peni Parker with synergies doing over 100k damage (incinerate burst + dot) with a single-ramped sp2 in Cav difficulty EQ:

Peni is my go to Bishop counter at the moment. She is incinerate immune, the sync shield can help with SP1 chip damage, her attacks are physical, and with enough charges she has pretty decent power control. Since I find Bishop very annoying to fight, the fact that she can get through him makes her valuable in my roster.

Certainly not my most used champ, but she gets the job done. The Mysterio synergy is also really fun to use.

I also am a huge Peni fan, and I think her immunities are being undersold. Peni, Red Hulk, Iceman, and Mephisto are the only champions that I can think of who have poison and incinerate immunity (CMM can kinda bootleg her way through it as well).

Additionally, y’all sleeping on what she can do for DDHK. I just took my 6* to r3 because of that synergy, it’s very fun to play with!

People forget that she has perfect block till the shield is up and if you are a scrub, the autoblock is a guaranteed safeguard.
P.S I don't have her. Everything I know is just by fighting her again and again and again.....

She can do things in a different way. If I ever pull her as a 5*, I would awaken her and at least R4 her in an instant.

I hope I pull her as 5* or 6* but have not had luck yet.. 4* might be enough for some but am not as skilled.

She’s great for kinetic transference nodes, and she has some nice power control/gain mechanics. Her shield scales with the opponent’s attack, so she is pretty sustainable, even against opponents with huge attack values.

She really relies on a specific rotation to max out her damage, so check out some videos so you’re getting the most out of her.

I took mine to rank 3 unawakened. I was skeptical at first because of her long rotations, but it all paid off in 7.3. There were quite a few nodes/lanes where she really shined. Very tanky and the power control on sp1 is useful for a handful of the paradox nodes. I am not bringing her into every fight but very happy to have her on deck for when I need her.

Maybe it's because I've been basically out of the loop but I've heard next to nothing about Peni Parker and her giant Optimus Prime lookin' Megazord lookin' Spider Man Mecha/Giant Robot/Gundam.
Aside from Hercules and Kitty Pride, most of the champs from last year don't get brought up that often.

I have her as an R3 at the moment and I think she’s good fun. Not necessarily the best champ in the game but has a fairly unique set of abilities and her synergy with Gwen is amazing and is genuinely tempting me to make Gwen my first R4 if I can get some platinum stars on her.

I think she’s great at r3. Has a lot of utility and counters Nick Fury’s regen. Stack a few s1’s and then a s2 and BOOM!!!

With that shield you can end fights with 100% HP if you can consistently parry and intercept

Yep, i only block many projectile specials and she ends up with 100% hp most of the time. R5 her today.

On def people now know how to deal with her, it same when thing and korg show up first, they don't know how to deal at first, and now they become easy to deal with

As mention by many on this post, her sp2 is damaging if know how to use her

I'm one of the first users to unlock Peni Parker (Not bragging, I literally got her as a 5* and maxed her 20 minutes after her first bundle releases lol), and have used her ever since. Here's the uses I've found for her:

1. SP2 Insane damage, great for short and long fights.
2. Sync Shield incredible for players who need to tank some fights, or make a mistake, as the charges can be easily regained and spent on autoblock, and also does damage, heal blocks AND power drains with the awakened ability.
3. Double Immunity, and one that isn't that common, with poison AND incinerate immunity.
4. Great defender in war. It's very much 50/50 however, as players who are patient and don't rush her as she has lots of sp1 charges often won't struggle. So long as you bait her to sp2, and don't hit her block if she has lots of charges, she'll die quickly. Simultaneously, however, she will absolutely melt ANYONE who tries to intercept her with charges, unblockable specials, incinerate / poison based damage, or just relies on melting her through abilities she auto-blocks, power drains and then heal blocks. Makes her good for high regen champs too.
5. Easy power control that benefits her as well. Rather than some champs who might lose some charges or abilities to inflict a power drain, peni pretty much does it normally, outside of her auto-block, same with heal blocking, and with an awakened ability will inflict damage for any power drained or healing blocked.
6. Good synergies with mysterio and gwen, adds a lot of playability and fun damage to those champs, without as much of a cost, eg. mysterio no longer losing charges for his insane heavy poisons.
7. A fun, easy champ overall. Her ramp up and playstyle is actually quite easy, and doesn't require a lot of focus. Here's one ramp up I use in pretty much all my fights with her that leads to almost guaranteed death for most enemies. - Sp1 just as enemy reached theirs or is a bit over their next power bar, build to sp2, fire off, GG. For longer fights, go for sp1 2 or 3 times, keep charges up (dont let her autoblock or she loses charges, so you just have to be careful, but its fine if you lose charges because sync shield takes the damage anyways), sp2, GG. Sp3 is applicable in any ramp up, just provides peni more tanky shield to let you take blocked hits easier.

She is the only champ I've ever spent money on to earn and I do not regret it one bit. I love her, and personally would LOVE to get a 6* version of her, as I have a maxed version of every other level other than 3* atm.

She's an incredible champion if you play smart and defensive at first, building up those Spidey-sense charges for a devasting Special 2 attack.

She's bad defender now due to Venom, galan and Hulkling existing in the game and during BG draft, you have good probability to at least pull one of them.
